Wentz was probably going to be the league MVP but it was a bit of a down year for MVP candidates overall, so they might have been overvaluing his impact. Of nobody could have reasonably expected Nick Foles to do stuff like post a 140 rating in the championship game

True. But they also played so well overall today they didn't need him to light things up. It's just a nice bonus that he did so it was sealed early.

Anyway, football is trash and there's no point to watching it so let's talk about video games again. Nier Automata is good and cool but not quite as fun to play as I want it to be.

I'll probably watch the Super Bowl but I swear that after that, I'm for real not going to watch football anymore (even if the Patriots lose).

I've just been playing Stardew and not much else. It's a really long game (by my standards) so I gotta give it my full attention

I haven't played my current Stardew file in a little while. I think I was like halfway through winter in year 1 in it. Have you ever played it docked? It looks surprisingly good on a TV and it sounds great.

Ha, of course I've played it docked. Are there people who use their Switches exclusively in handheld mode?

And why wouldn't it look good on a TV, it's not like it was originally a portable game

I don't play exclusively handheld but I definitely play handheld a lot more than docked. I like to have the TV on while I'm playing something a lot of the time.

I didn't watch any football today

That was honestly a lot easier to stomach than a last second heartbreaker (like Blair Walsh shanking a 27 yard field go). In my heart of hearts I knew the vikings weren't going to win the Super Bowl...oh well.

I'll be cheering for Philly against the cheatriots, just like everyone else with at least a fragment of a soul left

Not in disagreement that the game has flaws. I said it was an awesome game, not a perfect game. But you can hardly say your review is at all comprehensive if you barely played the game.

Not in disagreement that the game has flaws. I said it was an awesome game, not a perfect game. But you can hardly say your review is at all comprehensive if you barely played the game.

In all honesty though, 8 hours should be more than enough time to criticize the 'reward' system for clearing a dungeon or the lack of healing facilities back in town. It's not like I said the post game sucks or anything nobody would know at the 8 hour mark.

Some of the negative reviews have a lot less time put in, with a lot less helpful info. There's lots to like about the game though otherwise I wouldn't have given it the 8 hours in the first place. Magicite for example I couldn't get past 20 minutes due to the terrible controls. I wouldn't spend 8 hours on a total dud after all :)

The more I read about MLB's collective bargaining, the more I think the players will need to go on strike within the next few years. It's gotten very bad.

MLB is going to lose an entire season.

Unless I can get my contact in the commissioner's office to tell Manfred to be nice to the players.

I haven't really seen a major sport miss a full season in my lifetime. Not counting the 94 MLB strike, there was the NHL lockout, but meh. I like hockey but that would probably be my least missed of the big four so it barely registered. Actually, I think I'd miss the NFL least, personally, but it would really leave a significant void in the vibe of the city. If any of the other three had a season-long lockout, I don't think even half of Denver would notice.

I made one of my stupidest gaming purchases of recent memory today and pre-ordered Dragon Ball FighterZ. Love to buy fighting games based on an anime I haven't watched in 15 years that I can't even play online because my NAT type is bad. But it looks cool!

It looks great, and if it's anything like Budokai 3, it'll be worth it at some point... but not at full price.

I can't imagine it will be worse than any DBZ game that came before, and I don't say that to say old DBZ games are bad, just that the aesthetic of this game automatically elevates it above them since the mechanics we're never the point with DBZ games

I think it will be the best DBZ game but fighting games aren't really for me since I have nobody to play with, so fighting the AI gets old after a few hours to me.

I got a DBZ game on steam like 6 months ago, played it for 30 min, and haven't touched it again. It wasn't as fun as the one I used to play on PS2 at a friend's house. Oh well, at least it was on sale
