For folks who have been out of the loop: the charge Flynn pleaded guilty to is similar to the charge Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to. It is typical to arrange for pleas on a lower charge in exchange for cooperation with an investigation.

Mike Flynn, Jr. was also targeted by the investigation at some point; it is assumed that he won't be charged as part of the good-cooperation exchange for Flynn.

Yes, that's the point of a plea deal. You get a much softer charge in exchange for giving the prosecution information on someone higher up. Flynn is now looking at six months or less of prison time, whereas before it would have been years. He must have some very good and reliable information.

This appears to be the case now. Kushner ordered Flynn to speak with the Russians about sabotaging US policy. Whether this was ongoing before the election or not, it clearly happened before the inauguration, which makes it illegal. This means Kushner is either looking at prison or will have to himself enter a plea, giving up someone even higher in the administration.

When I read this topic's title, all I could think of was that someone finally figured out that Flynn from Tron hacked Encom and he was going to be prosecuted for it.

This topic is less interesting now.

dang theres still people thinking nothing happened when every couple of weeks now for like half a year another piece is uncovered.

im not going around saying anybody is guilty or impeachment or anything but theres at least enough now to...pay attention and listen.

Flynn wasn't an ambassador. At that point, he wasn't a government official at all. That's the entire problem - he was not authorized to do what he did. Then he lied to the FBI about it, which is even worse.

And this isn't touching the fact that he's also owned by Turkey (which he similarly failed to disclose) and succeeded in delaying an action against ISIS which Turkey objected to, something that is incredibly corrupt and has received shockingly little attention.
