In F/SN UBW, it turns out Shinji is Rider's Master, but soon he's not anyone's Master as Caster apparently kills her while he has everyone trapped within a bounded field at school. It's kind of sad that Rider is dead before we really get to see what she can do, but I guess that happened with Assassin in F/Z, too. He flees to Kirei for refuge, who says there's a Servant available with no Master if he wants to keep fighting. I thought he was talking about Assassin at first, but then Rin and Shirou spot Gilgamesh (I think) standing outside of the Mato house. I guess he was the dude talking to Sakura before, but that didn't occur to me because his face was obscured. Maybe he's trying to appeal to her to become a Master, but could he even become a Servant since there's already an Archer? Or could he enter as a different class? I have no idea. Maybe I'm totally wrong.

Anyway, the big question right now is who Caster's Master really is. Rin thinks it might be the student council president, and Shirou investigates the only way he knows how, which I totally saw coming. My initial thought was that Sakura would secretly turn out to be Caster's Master, but I had second thoughts when she was passed out during the whole episode with the bounded field. However, I guess it could still be the case since Archer believes the Servant has become the master and has whoever her Master is under some sort of mind control. I'm sure we'll find out soon.

All right, I decided to skip ahead and watch The Force Awakens with The Last Jedi coming out tomorrow. Yeah, that's a good movie. I think I'd still rank it behind all the OT movies, but it's not far behind.

Yeah one thing about F/SN is that because of the way the VN is structured, a lot of characters (such as Rider) only end up getting significant screen time in 1 out of the 3 routes.

Really strong ending. I was on a rollercoaster of "uh is this a bad end?" "wait actually did i stumble into the true end?" "wait i don't know what end this is help." Still not sure what end that was!

I shouldn't have been so quick to discard a lot of my early theories because they turned out to be right on! Guess it is now time to try and find route splits!

Oh, right, it was the Over Sky ending. The lines in particular were: What Serika says after the credits roll. I saw someone say it was something to the effect of, "Taku, did you get what you wanted?" but yeah. I'm guessing the issue was it was technically part of a movie or something and not in the normal format.

Yep, that's the one ending I've gotten, too. Hooray for my fellow always-pick-positive-delusion players >_>. This is also the only route done in the anime, fwiw.

The translation is slightly off; more accurate would be "Hey, Taku -- Did you get your wish? Did you get something you'd want to do?" This is, of course, playing back to the wish of his that spawned Serika.

In F/SN UBW, Caster's Master is revealed, and Shirou uses some projection magic to use Archer's blades to fend him off, albeit with some unintended physical consequences afterward. Then they spend a lot of time shipteasing Shirou/Rin, and then there's some philosophical discussion about why he does what he does, with both Rin and Archer fundamentally disagreeing with him only fighting to help others and not doing anything for himself.

I'm still slowly reading through the fan translation of the Hyouka books. I'm on the third one now, which is the Cultural Festival arc. The first two books were exclusively from Hotaro's perspective, but I expected them to mix it up this time because there's no way you could do this arc just from his perspective because he spends most of the time alone in the club room. Sure enough, I was right! It alternates pretty freely between all four characters, and it even keeps track of how often they change perspectives and how often they switch to a particular character. They assigned a suit to each character, too. Hotaro is a Spade, Eru is a Heart, Mayaka is a Diamond, and Satoshi is a Club.

Also, I've still been reading the fan translation of the ReLIFE chapters that come out every week. Chizuru is still the best, if you were wondering.

I almost never used Clock Up or Clock Down. I guess I should have, but it's not like you really need it.

I hated using Kloe because Water Arts sucked. I always ended up using Kevin instead even though he didn't have all 7 of his orbment slots linked. Also his S-Craft had some pretty good utility, and he is one of the few characters with access to CP regen through his normal crafts.

Also I have been led to believe Clock Up/Down are nearly essential for Nightmare difficulty runs.

I never used them either though, as someone who played on Normal.

Finished watching the prologue of Disappearance, and I was about to watch some YYH when I noticed the first two episodes of the Ace Attorney dub are up on Funimation now! Time to watch those instead!

Okay, after a couple of episodes of the dub, I think I mostly like all the voices. Not totally digging Edgeworth's voice, but he only has a few lines in the first couple episodes, so I'll give it time. Maya's voice sounds a bit too childish, but her VA brings the right amount of energy and enthusiasm, so I'm sure I'll get used to it over time. The secret star so far is Redd White's VA. Dude's perfect for the role.

In Yu Yu Hakusho, just like at the beginning of Season 3, Yusuke quickly gets bored with "normal" life because he's a blood knight who only finds thrill and purpose in fighting. Genkai sends him to the original Spirit Detective for advice, and she pretty much looks like a female Sensui without the dot on her forehead. Eventually, three demons show up on behalf of Yusuke's demon king ancestor and asks him to come to Demon World so they can help him fight against two other kings because he's about to starve to death since he doesn't want to eat humans anymore or something. Yusuke doesn't totally buy the story and he's got good reasons not to, but I guess we'll get the truth (or at least more of the truth) next time.

In the F/SN UBW season 1 finale, Shirou and Rin go on a date with Saber acting as their chaperone. Afterward, Caster ambushes them and manages to steal control of Saber away from Shirou thanks to her Noble Phantasm. Caster orders Saber to kill Rin, but Shirou takes the hit instead. Despite technically no longer being a Master, he still wants to fight so he can save Saber. Also, it's revealed that there's a Greater Grail (which is the reward for winning the reward) and a Lesser Grail, which the church supposedly keeps. Caster decides to kill Kirei in order to get it, but his ultimate fate is unclear at the moment.

Also, most of the other Servants make quick cameos to remind us that they're actually still around.

can confirm, especially with regards to Clock Down. Inflicting -50% speed in an AoE is really good, and it works on a surprisingly large percentage of even the super late-game bosses. Clock Up EX is less good, since it's only single target and +50% speed is significantly less powerful than inflicting -50%, but it's still strong.

Though Earth Wall is still better than both of 'em obviously.
