I was thinking of redoing noms, yeah. The whole point would be that this nom topic didn't work, so we need a new one that would allow for a wider field. But if you don't want to do that, your call.

I'd just rather not, and I've always avoided combining categories. There are some characters that might benefit but mostly it's going to combine characters that shouldn't be in the same field. I mean do you really think a final between Cloud Strife and Boba Fett would like very natural? Because I don't think it would.

I would not really accept Joshua Bright, he really only works alongside Estelle. He doesn't really take the lead when it comes to a mission, so he's kind of like a secondary in any usual RPG.

Any other Bracer that is seen on their own should work, including... Well...

But when does Joshua actually act as a bracer? Do you honestly think he'd ever at a point do any Bracer missions alone? He *could* do some alone, but he has no reason to collect bounties himself. He's essentially just his assassin self.

-Deadpool: Almost definitely removing this. Seems like Merc only.

-Inspector Javert: Still sorting through TV Tropes usage of the word bounty hunter for a reason why they did in this case. Out if I can't confirm it.

-Taskmaster: According to my comics advisor, this character never does any sort of bounty hunting at all. Most likely out.

It's not a bounty.

Marik forms the group to steal things. Those aren't bounties, just... organized crime. And Marik made one specific contract with Arkana -- beat Yugi and I'll get your girl back. It wasn't an open offer to the entire group.

Amarant is referenced in Dissidia Final Fantasy, by the moogle Benjamin, through a Mognet letter. If the player selects the answer "bounty hunter in blue" to one of his questions the player will receive a letter titled "Mr.Coral" the next day. In Benjamin's letter, he states that he heard a bounty hunter in blue was in Treno, and he decided to go take a look.

I do kinda wish I had just gone with Superheroes, but alas. As far as this roster goes, I don't think it's bad or particularly weak. It feels like a regular KotM to me. To be honest, most of you stop playing when your fave(s) die anyway, so it's not like people thinking this is a weak roster will really make a bit of difference in how popular the game is. It is top heavy, I can agree. But I can almost always predict who wins and this one probably won't be any different. Enjoy the journey, I say.

Keep in mind that if you want to nominate the next category you'll need to wait until this one is actually over. I'm not a big fan of mid-contest nominations anymore.

Regarding Joshua, on the one hand I can see what Wickle is talking about. It would make no sense to nominate, say, Olivier. He's helping Estelle with her monster hunts because he's an RPG party member, not because he himself is any kind of a bounty hunter. However, Joshua was an actual part of the Bracers Guild so I'd argue that he still fits even taking this into account.

Except for the fact that he's only in it to infiltrate it as an assassin (not really by choice, but still), essentially since the whole end game stuff... So again... kind of not actually working with the Bracers and is actually fake.

Case closed, I'd accept pretty much half the cast, but Joshua does not belong here as he pulls no personal weight towards being a Bracer. He would under no circumstance make the choice of being one on his own, and he does not work as one in a lone case.

He's hired specifically by Zuko though, and the wikia lists him as a bounty hunter only once and he's called an assassin the rest of the way. And there's no actual proof to his bounty hunter character, it's just he's hired by a specific person to kill the target.

Yes, I did. And yet no one's countering my point with post-FC knowledge. BECAUSE HE DOESN'T DO ANYTHING AS A BRACER. Name one instance where he goes off on his own for a bracer mission, where he's not just playing second fiddle to Estelle. Which yes, he's even in the aspect, but Estelle does have a chunk of the second game without him, so she does do Bracer guild bounties without him.

Joshua and Estelle are both members of the Bracers Guild, though. Just because they do their monster hunting jobs together shouldn't discount him, nor should motive.

By that logic, wouldn't we also have to exclude Django? His only bounty hunter work is helping Schultz

I'm saying it this way because arguing his inclusion is like arguing most say two people in the exact same role. Penelo to Vaan or Fran to Balthier. The lead takes the quests, the assistant is "forever" with him. Does that make them bounty hunters just the same? I'll ask Char, would you have denied Penelo access?

Still I'm new to KotM so maybe there is an argument to be made here. This is just my view, I'll leave the rest to charon and others
