I have some ideas...

After BedbugGate, I am broke and am struggling to pay bills. I need cash. If I want to play Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey, I'm going to need the $400+ necessary for a Switch and both of those games in addition to that bill money. Coming up with that money is going to take a few months. Most of these ideas don't feel logical to me, so I have to ask what I try first.

1. Sell random junk I have
I have LPs, Yu-Gi-Oh cards, a couple jigsaw puzzles, an Amiibo or three, and some other odds and ends
PROS: Might be profitable, would clean up my room
CONS: Seller fees, some things might not be sellable after BedBugGate (LPs might be melted?)

2. Sell PS4
Uncharted 4 SE, lightly used, well taken care of
PROS: Guaranteed money, instant
CONS: Would not be able to play games I liked again (Persona 5, Uncharted 4) or other games I want to play (Berseria, Lost Legacy, Danganronpa [which I own]), would need to use some of that money on my bills

3. Ask parents for loan
I feel bad even thinking of this after they already helped save me from the bedbugs
PROS: Would be okay, instant
CONS: Already bailed me out in BedbugGate, would charge interest because, I feel bad

4. Beg for money on the street
Would be honest to an extent: "Bedbugs invaded my home and I don't want to lose it. Help me not be homeless."
PROS: Makes more than my current job, could be used from a research standpoint
CONS: Bad for my reputation (could damage friendships or love interests), feels unethical
***We have a lot of beggars here, some that just use the money on cigarettes. I'd be better than them, but not by much.

5. Code an app
Or two. Would start with something simpler. Android only.
PROS: Interests me, would be possible since I taught myself HTML
CONS: Too time-consuming, too competitive, requires constant updates to maintain profits

6. Write a novel
When the levee breaks, I'll have no place to stay
PROS: Rough draft can be done in a month via NaNoWriMo, have English degree, have concept, if done right could impress girls
CONS: Would require three months of revisions, would likely have to self-publish (less profitable), time would be a problem

7. Sell shit on Etsy
Where do I come up with these ideas?
PROS: Could have a larger audience, would be fun, have access to a makerspace
CONS: Don't know what to make, low skill, craft materials can be expensive

8. Poker
I'd have to be all-in...
PROS: Can take the $100 and turn it into more than I need for a Switch, possibly overnight
CONS: Could lose $100 in 20 minutes and be even more broke, cost of gas money (casino with poker is an hour away), I probably have a lot of tells

9. Second job on weekends
I should've thought of this over the summer...
PROS: Guaranteed money, good for resume, impresses girls, more opportunities to meet people, easy to get at grocery store
CONS: Fatigue due to seasonal allergies and affectivity, lack of free time leading to sanity issues

10. Being a nerd
Help me, board 8
PROS: slycooper69
CONS: crazyisgood

I don't know what the most logical option is here. There might be other options, and if you have 'em, let me know!

That might work if I find a participating cereal I like. I don't remember the last Post cereal I bought... I've gravitated more toward Kellogg's, General Mills, and Cap'n Crunch over my life. I'll look into it when I go to the grocery store tomorrow, thanks.

Option 1, especially if it's stuff you never use anymore. Yeah seller fees suck but you're still making money getting rid of stuff that you're getting nothing from otherwise.

2nd job would be good but maybe wait until things return to pseudo-normal after this whole bed bugs thing is finished.

Sell ps4 would be 3rd option.

Yeah, it's stuff I never use. Might even sell a couple games, but probably just a couple.

The problem is that most of what I'm selling isn't worth very much and would be cost-prohibitive to ship. Well, the Yu-Gi-Oh cards wouldn't be (just put them in a card protector, then stick it with cardboard in a regular envelope; two stamps), but half the LPs are worth under $5 (if they're even good anymore), and Amiibos have gone down drastically in value. I could get $8 per jigsaw, maybe.

I'll look into this over the weekend to see if there's anything that I can sell that WILL sell. That's probably my best option right now. I can only get 50 listings a month so if I get 20 up in October, I'll have 70 with what I get in November.

That'll probably be another week or two. Still in recovery mode. I'd do a grocery store job. They've advertised all year "Work every other weekend and make $200 a month!" on the exit doors. I'd hate it, but it would be good for me to at least do temporarily. That is, if they still need that help. I'm going there tomorrow. Will keep an eye out for it (would apply online). I'd hope to be bagging groceries, but usually they have newbies doing cart corral duty. One of my buddies works at their other store and they let him skip cart corral duty because he had prior grocery store EXP. I don't.

We'll see how long I last there, if I even get it.

Ah if that's the case then your only hope would be like a bulk deal for each category. Like all your amiibos for one, all your LPs for another, etc.

Also I guess you aren't the type but for me cart corralling sounds way better than bagging, you don't have to interact with customers. Customers suck.

I'd rather engage with pleasantries of "have a nice day" and nodding than deal with Old Man Winter. I'd rather do bagging than checkout though.

Looks like there's one within walking distance of where I work.

Problem is, I don't know if I'm "healthy enough." While I've lost a lot of weight, I don't know if it's been enough for something like that. It's not something I can just magically improve. I will wait and see on that. If my employer offers a free biometric screen this year, that will be a good indication of where I am at. No word on that though... which is bizarre. Last year I knew about it in September >_>

More like I think Mario and Zelda will do the trick.

...that might be funny. I didn't even know you could do cookies on Etsy, though. Perhaps I should do that. A dozen of my chocolate chip cookies on Etsy for $12, including shipping? Three dozen for $32. That might be profitable since I'm good at baking. Appearance isn't the greatest but I get accolades about the cookies every time I make them. My boss's boss started demanding I bring the cookies for any potluck we have >_>

Trust me, unless you have HIV or other serious diseases, you're probably healthy enough. If you've ever donated whole blood, the process is almost totally the same. Just drink lots of water and make sure you've eaten a meal in the hour before you donate.

Not here. The only time I've seen a homeless bum being handcuffed was one that had stolen a bicycle. I see the same beggars time and time again. If I were to put on a ratty shirt and beat-up jeans and act homeless, I'd make $$$ without generating a criminal record. That said, I'd feel guilty as hell - I know how much I hate it when those beggars pester me. I don't want to become them.

One of the main antagonists in my writing is based on Soros. The political games that guy plays are sickening.

A second job may not be good for my sanity given the time of year, but you're right that more money would give me peace of mind. It would make it so I don't have to live paycheque to paycheque anymore (I'm not struggling, I'm just... not able to do much for fun, but having a second job would create a time issue for that as opposed to a money issue).
