New Lucifer was pretty great. If I have to put up with another entire season of Chloe not seeing Lucifer is literally Lucifer I am going to be annoyed though because they already overplayed that for two seasons.

Gifted was pretty boring I agree. I can't remember any of the characters names and they all feel like bargain bin X-Men "clones" somewhat. The green eye contacts were really cartoony and distracting too.

Why doesn't Lucifer just show the Detective his wings now?

I watched Inhumans...I didn't even think it was outright bad, but there are a lot of things wrong with it. Some actors are really not...amazing and it's put in an even starker contrast with Iwan Rheon there. Some of the writing is really poor, to an annoying sense:

- A thing happens, and Black Bolt and Medusa walk away. Medusa says some things and ends with "I'm here if you want to talk about it". Black Bolt responds in sign language. Medusa replies with "You want to be alone...and think about it.". That's not how dialogues work! Nobody would respond to that in that way. The only reason Medusa says that is to let the audience know what Black Bolt said, which could just as easily have been solved with subtitles.

- Eventually a fight breaks out between Medusa and a supporting character. Medusa stabs her and the woman seemingly dies. In the final scene, it goes back to the woman, who wakes up and showcases her...healing powers. These two characters have known each other for a while, at least. HOW THE FUCK DOES MEDUSA NOT KNOW SHE HAS HEALING POWERS! How does she not take care of that! It's just a thing that's done for DRAMA!

It also has some issues with the Royal Family not really coming across as terribly nice people, so it feels kind of hard to root for them. I'm still interested enough to see it progress, but, it'll have to do a lot to turn it around to must-watch.

Finally watched the Gotham from last week. It was pretty great aside from the return of a terrible character I'd love to see gone forever already

Yeah, Gifted was fine, we'll see how it plays out. One of the characters having the 90s X-Men cartoon theme song as their ringtone was a compelling reason for me to give it a chance.

Inhumans was...not great, but that's no surprise at this point. I'll probably stick it out but I'm not optimistic. Also, I thought I understood what Karnak's power was before the show but now I have no idea (or they don't).

I just watched the first half of the Inhumans premiere and all I really want to say is it's taking itself way too seriously so far. Medusa's haircut was almost laughable.

Second episode was better in that regard. Acting/writing is still weak, and I'm not even the kinda person to normally pick at those aspects very much.

But it's only 8(?) episodes, so might as well just watch it all anyway. Maybe it'll improve!

watched The Gifted

so far digging it overall, though some of the writing/acting is a little shaky.

It would help if they would flesh out the villains a bit more than the generic bureaucrats they are now

The show is delving a little too quickly into stereotypes and cliches but it has a lot of potential

Dig the chemistry between the Andy and Lauren, though I'd prefer more focus on the team of mutants than the suburban family

Woo Arrow next week! Also Flash I guess, but that last season was mostly disappointing so I'm not all that excited about it returning especially since they still aren't killing the focus on the worst character on the show

Gotham was fine. Not sure if I'm glad the "Riddlette" only lasted one episode but it's probably a good thing that she did.

Also watched Lucifer. Of fucking course Chloe doesn't learn the truth. Maybe in another 12 episodes we'll get another attempt...

Animated? :( Still excited he's coming back, but I was hoping it was gonna be live action.

Yeah, it's been in the works for a while. Rumor is that it's essentially a test to see if there's any desire for a Constantine return. Supposedly it might return either on the CW or the new DC/WB streaming service that launches in 2019.

The writer choice is awesome.

I mean they're already doing Titans on that. There are just way too many streaming services now because everybody wants in on the Netflix and Hulu money. It's like you need a dozen services to watch a couple shows now when it's supposed to be cheaper than having cable.

For Lucifer, he couldn't just show off his wings at that point because he had cut them off and didn't think he had them anymore. But I could see him not showing them as a sign that he doesn't want her to know him as some kind of winged servant of God. However, I think Chloe is going to learn by the end of the intended finale, which out to be within a few episodes, if I remember right.

Obviously a speedster. They're not doing it on Flash so surely that must mean they're doing it on Arrow.

I would have been aboard the Savitar train if it was actually Eddie since that is about a million times more compelling than "Just evil me from an alternate future".

I think everyone wanted it to be Eddie and it was kind of a letdown when it turned out to be the only other viable option... but the one no one wanted.

Anyways, Arrow main villain this year? Let's make it the Doctor Light.

Third episode of Inhumans felt like an improvement. Or I've just appropriately lowered my expectations by now. At the very least the acting seemed better from the two that I thought were the worst so far (Gorgon and Crystal, except the "king of no one" delivery).

The Gifted pilot was cool. Didn't waste much time on exposition or background information and got straight into the thick of things.

I didn't really want it to be Eddie. I just think the reveal was awful in general. Like I would've been more ok with a random homeless person Flash bumped into turning out to be Savitar than what we got >_>

Eddie would have been a lot of fun and a good way to wrap the speedster villain trilogy; it would have been a nice bow that tied everything together. Then, we could move on to a Captain Cold trilogy of seasons featuring Captain Cold where Captain Cold teams up with Captain Cold to lead a team of Captain Colds doing Captain Cold things.

Or something, I'm not particularly fixed on how you do a full Captain Cold season.

I actually think they might do a KGBeast transformation kind of thing with Anatoli, and honestly there's a lot of villains still leftover that they'll probably just focus on that. Doctor Light would be pretty cool.

Iris long term is worse than Patty short term.

Patty long term is the same thing over and over forever.
