It was a great episode of Riverdale so I'm excited to see the ratings jump up. We'll see if it sticks.

The death in Riverdale was... unexpected. I guess Grundy is just a straight up pedophile. I kind of thought it was a 1-time thing with her and Archie. I'm not sure what our reaction is supposed to be to it, but I'm sure we'll find out more. I like that she was in Sabrina's town and am excited to see when they introduce her!

Oh, it was absolutely not a one time thing with Grundy. If you remember the episode where she is exiled out of Riverdale, she arrives in the new town and gives a pair of boys some "fuck me" eyes.

I will agree that episode was outstanding though.

Gotham was really solid, yeah. I particularly enjoyed everything with Penguin and the Riddler's messengers entirely too much.

"So same pose or something different?" "WAIT!" "Same pose it is."

But as for Arrow... solid episode too. I feel like they're going an interesting direction with the season. Hard to say until we see what Michael Emerson is all about. It had some of the typical "Ugh, Arrow" writing foibles you have in a typical episode, but I enjoyed it.

But holy shit, if they actually had Thea die after Merlyn gave his life for her so she could FAIL to save annoying mom, I would have lost my mind. Coma is a good way to limit her episodes again though I guess.

Stop expecting good writing out of Arrow. The whole "bad man" thing was so unbelievably awful. Like on what planet would that conversation ever play out like that? How old is this fucking kid? Does he have a disability? That's the only way it's believable, but he seems old enough to be able to have a conversation, especially since he actually has something of a conversation at the end of the episode.

But yeah, Arrow is just a show that bumbles and stumbles around with bad writers that eventually luck into doing something decent every once in a while. I'm not even going to post a spoiler with this part because we all knew it was coming, but William's mother living long enough just to fall into Oliver's arms and deliver a final few lines and then die was so unbearably bad. Like come on with that.

They're bad writers. But from what it sounds like, Michael Emerson is incredibly involved with the production and advancement with his character, so anything surrounding him probably won't be awful since he will know what he's doing more than Guggenheim and whatsherface ever do.

At this point I'd take the Arrow group over Flash's group. Flash's best are seasonal Wells and Cisco and they're great, but there are too many downsides in the group and it looks like Wally will be forever jobber garbage :(

If you ignore the island stuff and the William stuff I think it was actually a pretty good episode.

It's just such a shame they flubbed the island cliffhanger. The finale was SO STRONG and now it just feels like it was a disappointment.

Yeah, Arrow was decent aside from those parts. It and Flash suffered most of the same issues aka speeding through stuff from the finale way too fast. Just typical bad writing for both there.

I actually had two other problems with Arrow S6ep1 and that's lame ass Black Siren being back. Can we just fucking remove Laurel in all forms from this show already? She's so bad. The other is Thea being hospitalized. Why the hell is Thea being benched so much? She was barely around last season and now she's gonna be comatose for who knows how long of this season? Fuck that Thea deserves better

Also Arrow's said 5 months later and Flash said 6 months later so they're off in time now. Is Arrow going to have another month time skip?

On Gotham, I was surprised they were willing to straight up murder a kid on screen. I mean I know it technically panned away once Ra's started slicing, but still. TV usually steers away from that kinda thing.

Watched Arrow and Legends. Arrow was okay outside of some spotty writing and not a great child actor. Legends was fun. At least they're embracing what a terrible team they are.

Apparently Victor Garber is leaving Legends. I wonder how they'll handle Firestorm once he leaves. I mean Jax could find a new partner like Stein did after they couldn't get Robbie Amell to join.. but don't they still need to combine ever so often anyway? They could just permanently fuse the two together, I guess, though as someone on the TV board said Then they can't conveniently split up the two members of the team who are useless, so they don't have to use firestorm. ---------------------------------------

I usually defend children in shows, I think people are harsher to them than they should be.

But holy crap Ruby in Supergirl might be the dumbest kid in a show I've ever seen.

William doesn't work because his actor can't pull it off--and then they basically turned him into boy felicity from season 4. (Are we sure that Flash changing time didn't make Oliver get Felicity pregnant instead, and he's her son, but nobody told him?) He's there to create conflict for Oliver becoming a father, when it's really unnecessary. Him balancing being Green Arrow, the Mayor, and a dad would be plenty. Throwing "You're the bad man daddy!" on top of it for a boy who looks like he's old enough to really know better. I mean it'd be a lot better of a plot if William were upset his dad didn't spend more time with him, rather than "YOU KILLED MY MOM EVEN THOUGH YOU DIDN'T AND I'M CLEARLY OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER"

I'm not sure why they didn't at least recast if they were going this route. I mean they recast Sarah! They could have even used flashpoint to justify the change.

I think with kid characters you need both good writing, and good acting. One can't compensate for the other.

I wonder how long Arrow and Flash will continue their trend of the "sidekick" constantly jobbing. I mean everybody just totally wanted to see Wally and Roy get their asses beaten nonstop.

Also I've seen 2 episodes of The Gifted and I can't remember a single character name in it. I realized this when my mom asked me what a character was called and I was like "uh....wow I have no idea what any of them are called." Not sure I'll follow the whole thing because it isn't really impressing me

Oh my god the Barry/Iris parts of this new Flash episode are soooo bad holy hell. Also Wally and Barry have really uh lame looking hair this episode. Wally in particular just looks terrible.

-in this society being a mutant makes you a terrorist but forming a heavily armed civilian militia and opening fire on unarmed children in a suburban neighborhood is perfectly fine
-the mom is by far the most boring character here. Literally everyone in the "dad captured by govt." subplot is tied for 2nd.

Man I'm really, really trying to like this show. DO BETTER, FOX! I KNOW YOU CAN!

Didn't mind most of the Iris stuff, actually. I thought it was funny. Her coming up with the solution is fine, since it wasn't that scientific anyway. Only bad part was her being "Why did you leave me?" because she literally knew why. I mean she does have to deal with the fact he's been gone six months, but that could have been handled a lot better.
