today's the end of Aho Girl and Tsurezure Children.

each is a contender for best anime this season but overall i like the latter a little more and it's a legit contender for best show all year.

I take offense to the idea that the concept of Re:Creators wasn't unique and interesting from the get go. It's one of very, very few anime over the last few years that can actually claim that.

I remembered the post wrong because I couldn't post for a while after reading it. I specifically think it has a fantastic concept, and the ending sold it hard.

And saved it from being bad? There was nothing that needed saving, show was firing on all cylinders.

Maybe I'm being too hard by saying it isn't interesting, but it's just fucking silly. The way they played it off in the first half or so didn't feel right and only furthered how silly it was, so when they began to embrace the cheese hard, I found it to be far more enjoyable.

Literally introducing an h-game character for no reason was the best part.

The way they play it realistically is great. Everybody straight up saying they should just hide her away somewhere, and her awful fucking writer not skipping a beat and spitting out an awful side doujin, which also works because fans of that shit absolutely would accept that no question.

I admit that there is a lot of exposition early on, and I can see that turning people off even if it's good. We're not talking From the New World here. I'd say it's from the point the government gets involved where it really shines, though the action scenes before that were great.

I'm not done yet, but of what I've seen so far, I'd say episodes 1-10 were amazing and 11-14 haven't been quite as good. The show's at its best when it's focusing on the villains (Mamika included), so these eps haven't really been quite as exciting.

btw was it ever mentioned why they never tried to find Mamika's creator...?

They do not bring it up. Probably the most notable thing I can say was an odd ommission. Since she's from precure like show for children that's likely extremely long running and episodic, maybe she doesn't really have one specific Creator to pin down?

Beated Restaurant to Another World/Isekai Shokudou. This was bad. I kept watching it because there was never any big reason to drop it, but there was never anything very good about it either. The food-focused sections of the show were basically always boring, and were incredibly repetitive. Very little creativity here. The world-building was actually the more interesting part, honestly. Sometimes the little stories could be pretty cool. The presentation was always very good, which is probably what kept me watching. It was very watchable in its badness. Stuff like the lizardman story was very cool. It's just too bad the main characters weren't great and the food parts were so uninspired.

I wonder if there'll ever be another food show as good as Bartender...

Also finished Aho Girl (why didn't they translate the title anyway? Dumbass Girl would've been a great name for a show). Pretty good stuff! Main negative was that Akkun was a crappy character (as are all tsukkomis, generally), but after the first couple episodes his screentime really dropped, until the last episode. There were some really great ones in there. Ep 11 might've been my favorite of them all. Yoshiko's great, and Aoi Yuuki just did an incredible job as her VA. Amazing how far she's come.

Part 3 is actually my favorite part in total (Though my favorite single gambles are Chinchiro and E-Card), but I've come to accept it's not getting animated, primarily because Hideki Taniuchi (The soundtrack composer) is in jail LOL

Finished NTR: Netsuzou Trap. Went in kind of a different direction that I expected it too. Thought it would be more about the two friends getting closer over time, which it kinda was, but the abusive boyfriend angle wasn't really my thing. Pretty entertaining other than that though.
