Honestly, more than there being nothing to do a lot of the time I think the gacha might be wants turns me off F/GO. It's so much more heavily stacked against you than any other mobile game I've seen. It has the super low rates of FFBE, but at least everything you summon in FFBE is a character. The fact that the majority of a multisummon here is usually useless equipment is the worst.

Sigh, my rolls are garbage as I expected. Finally got Romulus, which is cool I guess, and With One Strike, which seems like it'd have a use in specific situations. Tempted to do another, but will try to restrain myself.

Rate Up only comes into effect when you get a Servant/CE of the rarity of the Servant on the banner. Basically, it's something like this: there's a 1% chance you get a 5* Servant. So if you roll and get the 5* Servant, there's a 65% chance it'll be one of the ones that's on the banner. Works the same with 4* Servants and the CEs.

I still think rate up is a lie, particularly for 3s. I got SO MANY 3*s from the Gil banner and none were Medea.

Hell I got a 2 5*s and they were both Jeanne too. At least I got two Atalanta so something panned out but yeah the 3* rate up has to be negligible

I've gotten a featured 3* from like 1 out of 8 or more 10-pulls total. Pretty damn awful rates

I got a Boudica just now (she's on the banner)!

But uh, I'm not saying Rate Up always works. Just that Lens's example isn't an example of it being a lie.

It has always been a lie for me aside from pulling Altera the other day. One of these days I will get a 4* Servant from a summon who isn't garbage tier Stheno :(

Comparing F/GO's rates to Dokkan Battle's rates is a sick joke. in dokkan battle i can't stop tripping over banner SSRs.

I only pulled 1 myself. This account I have was given to me on the F/GO board by a nice person who saw I really wanted Artoria. Altera is the only good Servant I have pulled since I got this account. The freebie Tamamo I got from the ticket and even Saber Lily are better than anything else I ever pulled using Quartz and tickets.

My luck being good doesn't make the rates sensible

I'd have quit this game if the 5*s were my favorites. Tamano is the only one I want all that much. Rest will just be neat.

The rates are far higher in Dokkan. The featured character rates are still like 1-2% on average, but there's a 10% SSR rate on banners and a special banner called Rising Dragon Carnival is double that rate. It helps you can only pull characters in Dokkan where Fate can fuck you with like 9 craft essences in a pull

Dokkan also has Guaranteed SSR banners every now and then where the last card in a multi is guaranteed to be an SSR so if your 1st card is an SSR it means you're getting at least 2 SSRs from your multi. I've seen people pull as many as 8 SSRs in a single multisummon.

Dokkan Battle's rates are significantly better than any other mobile game I've played. I mean, it is part lucky but I mean the simple numbers are better.

I think useless is a bit extreme. You can still beat hard events with an entirely free to play team. Free to play TEQ is pretty damn good. A majority of SSRs just feel useless if they aren't the featured OP card, but plenty of them are still good enough

It's not just the rates, but the prevelence of getting equipment instead of characters.

Though, yes, the rates are mitigated by the fact that a wide variety/rarity of characters are viable. But I feel like in most mobile games 99% of the content is doable with anyone.

How much do you need to invest in 1*s for them to do great stuff? I still have friend Lancelot and Tamamo die in one or two turns if they get hit more than once or something. It's not uncommon at all for Gilgamesh to kill Tamamo and nearly kill Artoria in one turn because he just does so much damage with so many attacks.

well Berserkers take super effective damage from everything so yea they're gonna die quickly

I know, but even neutral attacks can be a ton of damage taken. Like if you face 3 gold hands and fail to kill one in your turn and all 3 attack the same character. That character usually always does for me since they end up taking like 12,000+ damage or something

Well sure, but most people don't use strategy against Hands.

I feel more like the 5* Servant is comparable to pulling an LR in Dokkan while the 5* craft essence or even the 4* Servant is the Dokkan featured banner SSR.

See, I totally disagree here. In Dokkan you need a Cooler to make any of your PHY Extreme units even worthwhile for current events. If you don't have that leader that entire type of unit basically gets thrown into the trash. It's not a 1% chance for 0.8% chance for cooler, it's a 0.8% chance to have any of the PHY units you ever pull not be shit. On top of that, in Dokkan you not only need that 0.8% lead, you either need to spend months grinding for LRs or Strikes to make a worthwhile team or whale for a good pullable team to even be able to attempt a new event.

You simply cannot field a UR/LR lead with Ns and expect to win a new Dokkan event, especially on Super difficulty. Neither could you expect to do with a single N unit soloing the event. In F/GO, you can not only win the entire game with 1*s, there are several events you can outright solo with them. Couple that with servants like Robin, Cu and Arash who have ludicrous abilities that make them situationally as good as any 4 or 5 star unit.

And personally, I think F/GO is also more generous. Regardless of events, login-campaigns or story/interlude grinding you get 15 free pulls a month. It's been awhile since I've played Dokkan, but goddamn if their login bonuses were worthless.

How many grails and Fous do you gotta waste on the 1*s to do it? Hell I can't even Ascend my 2* Leonidas a second time because Ascension materials in this game are nearly as rare as 4-5* Servants. That's honestly probably the worst or second worst thing about this game. Maybe it gets better over time, but right now multiple Ascension items have like a "well you might get one drop a month if you're lucky" feel to them.

Also you don't need Cooler to make your PHY Extreme units worthwhile. He is their best leader, but you can still manage with Broly or Goku Black. You can beat even the most current Dokkan Fest bosses with entirely f2p teams.

As for the logins Dokkan recently had their biggest celebration yet. I went from like 30~ stones in July after using like 700 or more to having almost 1,000 of them now.

I remember somebody a while back saying that ascension items stop being a bottleneck at some point. (I think QP becomes the issue instead? Seems unlikely but that's how stuff goes sometimes) I am hoping they're right because man I need dragon jewels.

I need dragon fangs, chaos claws, hearts, Phoenix Feathers, serpent jewels....probably every single item that isn't a Piece or Void Dust really. I must have like 300-400 Void Dust by now

I am hoping for dragon fangs to ascend Martha. And QP being a bottleneck is hard to imagine nowadays, but yeah, I've heard the same.

I think QP bottleneck is mainly for upgrading abilities, which isn't really necessary to do afaik

I mean depending on the servant it's pretty important

you're gonna typically want all important skills to at least hit level 6 so their cooldown is lowered by 1 turn. level 10 lowers it by two turns

Basically all of the items you can get in the ascension item quest become things you can specifically grind for in lower AP places. For example in London there's easy Gears grind locations.

Nice costume. Got 1 Phoenix Feather from 250AP so that's definitely the average. Still sucks though since I need a couple more. I think the issue is enemies drop way too many things. I'd be fine with all QP and EXP being event only and all the gems having their own event too.

Any person who has Artoria awakened above the level you need dragon fangs for must have hacked their phone system via the deep web because I can't legitimately get any. I ran this 5 AP Thursday quest a ton and only got 1.

I got 3 Dragon Fangs today. Ran the 5AP quest maybe a dozen times? Drop rate isn't the worst ever.

I don't, but I'm not worried about maxing her level after she is fully Ascended. I don't see what would be wrong with the exp cards being exclusive to the 4 exp stages that run daily. I literally never need them as drops and 99% of the drops I get doing these Ascension item quests are 1-2* exp trash I can get from friend points and QP I can get from hands every day
