I liked it a lot too but I think just because its really heavy on the pandering or something. Also a lot of people have come to hate oreimo for what it has done to the anime LN adaptations in recent years so seeing more from the same guy but turned up to 11 just upset some people I guess.

I'm guessing because it's easy to denounce the lowest of low brow anime. Isn't the show totally devoid of any shame of what it is or something? I haven't seen it or have any interest to.

So finished nisekoi anime. Meh, Chitoge gets a bit better but her personality is still much worse than literally everyone else's. Plus her household already has it made. Also wonder why Tachibana even had such an elaborate backstory if she was just going to become comic relief.
By the way, has anyone here seen The Pet girl of sankoursou? How is that?

I'm enjoying koyomimonogatari a lot. Honestly it's just really nice to watch something pointless that still interacts with the monogatari characters, style, and world. The epilogue to the water mystery was also one of the funniest moments in the series IMO.

It's hard to discount kanbaru. I mean I am a yuri fan to the max and her character is fun as well but karen is just painfully cute. Hopefully somehow they end up together.

Just finished Koyomimonogatari and huh... That ending is odd. I kinda think I know how it will be resolved with dream span but it's still an odd ass ending to what was otherwise pointless side stories. Raises quite a few questions. If I had to pick how things would be resolved, hachikuji would get resurrected with dream span and become the god of the shrine. I also assume the previous shrine was where the cram school was since they have the same tree thing and I Imagine that will be important later as well. I'm pretty sure the tree did not burn with the building.

The fact that gaen had the original heart span that was eaten by the darkness is the important question here. What is the darkness really and where does it lead? In the backstory there was honestly no reason for the villagers or anyone besides shinobu herself to get sucked into the void so I feel like theres still some things we don't know about it. Also means the original dream span might be out there as well.

I'm at sort of an impasse in what to do next. I really want to resolve the cliff hanger ending which would require watching owari S2 but I also need to watch kizu at some point. I'm not even sure if owari is fully subbed yet for that matter. I guess I'll stick to the original plan and watch kizu next. The thought of watching a monogatari movie sounds exhausting. It's tough enough for me at this point just watching normal length episodes.

Araragi Karen from monogatari. She is one of the main characters little sisters. While she is visually cute like all the girls its more her personality and the scenes she is in that make her a solid best girl candidate. She is the girl in "the toothbrush scene".

Watched first 2 kizu movies. That is one weird ass art style. On the other hand it somehow made hanekawa look almost impossibly sexy. It's like the weird surreal imagery and style somehow makes her just ridiculously hot. It also helps that she acts pretty sexual in these movies. It kinda makes me pretty sad that he chooses hitagi instead of hardlining for hanekawa after all they went through. I mean, I really like senjougahara but this is just too much. Not to mention they start dating after basically nothing. Poor hanekawa.

Should also mention damn they really know how to make araragi look utterly terrified. It's probably the most scared I've ever seen any character in anything. They really captured what being actually terrified instead of just scared is like.

Not sure if I'm awake enough to watch the last movie since its also the longest. Perhaps for tomorrow. I only have 4 hours of monogatari left at this point. The end (lol) is in sight.

Life is turning busy in a hurry. My mother is the hospital again (... not looking good, to be honest, but the doctors are on task), I have a lead on a writing opportunity, and it looks like I might be working for my local Game Stop for the holidays as a second job. *shakes head* Unsure about that, since my EB Games job still holds the title as my least favorite job of all time, but a decade and a half of life experience might make it more bearable.

Finished kizumonogatari and now only owari S2 remains. The movies weren't bad, the fight scene in the last one was pretty funny. I gotta say, after that one scene, how the fuck did he not end up with hanekawa? How did enough time even pass between then and meeting senjougahara without them hooking up.

Monogatari series complete...for now. That ending was far more complete than I thought it would be and honestly I couldn't have hoped for better. Time for spoilers from owarimonogatari season 2 and really the whole series.

I am a fucking prophet! Dream span DID revive both araragi and hachikuji and she DID end up becoming the god of shirahebi shrine. I had also surmised that ougi was an oddity that araragi was responsible for but I didn't get it exactly right. The trees also had nothing to do with anything yet. I figured ougi would end up getting saved (although hana kinda gives that away). Considering kizu did basically nothing to resolve araragi's arc I'm glad ougi was that resolution instead. Looking back its painfully obvious that she had to be. I mentioned how only two characters arcs were left at the end of season 2 and no surprise shinobu's was handled in kizu mostly and then wrapped up in owari 2 and all of final season was araragi.

Oh I was also wrong about the original shrine location but I was right about shinobu being the original god way back when. It was nice to see senjougahara spend time with araragi again. Looking more deeply at the snake metaphor of death and rebirth thats exactly how the seasons go. Season 1 is birth where we are introduced to all the characters, season 2 is death where we lose most of the characters and araragi ends up "alone" and season 3 is rebirth where everyone gets brought back and it literally fucking says they live happily ever after.

Spoilers over. I think my watch order was ALMOST ideal. Watching kizu before owari 2 does seem like the best place but it would also be fine going before neko black. The one thing I would change is I would watch hana in LN release order which is right after kabukimono. It makes the events of otori have a different and IMO awful connotation that wasn't originally intended by nisioisin and I think that was one of the reasons I ended up disliking season 2 so much. With the context of hana and final season, season 2 was actually not bad and koi is even better after watching hana (which SHOULD be information the viewer already has in LN order).

I shouldn't really say this without more time to think on it but my initial impressions after finishing this is that it's my favorite anime series of all time. I'm glad SHAFT will continue to adapt it supposedly forever.

Currently on Nekomonogatari shiro, this "ordered timeline" watch is going rather well I must say, since I already experienced the "original" order for like 90% of the series first time around this "new" way of watching it makes it a really interesting experience, it goes to show how well Shaft adapted the series for it to all make sense in chronological order without it feeling weird despite it not being shown in said order originally, great stuff

About hana- watch order nuance; Like I said before, Shaft had to cut out an arc from second season because it wouldn't fit otherwise in TV broadcast. Though, I think they did a really good job doing what they had to do, so either way is fine by me Hana was the ideal arc to cut out because it made the "breakthrough" of Kaiki's character in Koimonogatari and his personal cliffhanger really amazing, and it wouldn't work out as well if Hana was seen beforehand. That said, I'm biased from the first experience, and that Koimonogatari was my favorite arc.

Also, I don't know how I feel about owari S2. I think I'm shellshocked from how nicely everything wrapped up, and the fact that the main story is over.

I hate Kingdom Hearts fans.. I decided to look on a website to find some KH doujins, just out of curiosity (that series is one of several that I generally don't like to think about that way). There were quite a few of them, so I filtered out yaoi... aaand zero hits.

That said, I'm biased from the first experience, and that Koimonogatari was my favorite arc.

I mean that's sorta the thing. The cliffhanger wasn't even supposed to be one. The one time the show had a sense of climax and tension was of course a mistake. This show always has anticlimaxes instead. Not to mention the last scene of koi already calls Hana into question. At the time I even thought that the kaiki kanbaru sees might be a ghost given how its way faster than her.

I've heard bad things about glasslip. Wow, it has a 5.54 rating on MAL. Ratings aren't everything but that is really really low.

Glasslip was so panned, that it makes me interested in checking out how badly it trainwrecked.

There's a similar anime called Nagi no Asukara, which was pretty good. Its success is why people were interested in glasslip in the first place before knowing it was a trainwreck.

Oh that is quite bad lol. That's a lot worse than Charlotte which I heard a lot of people got pissed at. Wait, that's worse than Futari Wa Milky Holmes! I think that's one of the worst scores I've seen. What could possibly make it that panned?
And I've seen Nagi. I really liked the OPs and the journey was fun though the ending was kind of rushed, but I think most anime/manga endings are rushed.
The beginning was also kind of rough since the MC was a douchebag but he improved exponentially, the most I've seen of any anime MC, rivaling Simon from Gurren Lagann

Woah! Owarimonogatari season 2 is TIED FOR FIRST PLACE on MAL. It's sitting at 9.26 tied with your name and .01 ahead of FMA:B (which apparently has a dedicated group on MAL that downvotes every other high series so FMA:B can stay near or at the top). Regardless at least for the moment it's the highest rated TV series on MAL. Can't say that doesn't make me happy. I suspect it'll drop down some points over time but still, it's nice that it got it's moment in 1st place.

So I was browsing around the top upcoming anime because I didn't know that was a thing and I found some things I'm now looking forward to. We got a new season of kino's journey on the way at some point. I kinda think I might have heard this before and just forgot but I'm happy all over again. For me it's like mushishi but exciting. We also have at least one yuri show in citrus coming which is always nice because yuri is best. New shokugeki no soma eventually will be nice for sure. A new relife season which is awesome cause I thought the first season flew under the radar. I think that was everything I didn't know about that looked interesting but still, something to look forward to.

I'm not sure what I want to watch next. I'd preferably like some kind of cool down show after essentially 100 episodes worth of cerebral and philosophical monogatari. Some turn your brain off ecchi harem comedy would be nice but I kinda feel like I've already watched all of those that aren't rated super horribly. Maybe a cute girls doing cute things show could be fine as well but I don't know.

I think I'm going to lay low for a seasonal anime. I think I'm burning out on it. I'll watch 3-gatsu's 2nd season for sure, and I'll check out the others at the end of the season after the full verdict is out.



Can't really help you there with either departments. I'll attempt to throw some lesser brain power shows out there.

Amagi Brilliant Park
Dagashi Kashi - Nice characters, super japanese-y, 2nd season announced
Flying Witch - comfy, no drama ie. nothing happens, SoL
Humanity has Declined - Sci-fi comedy, a favorite of mine

Saiki Kusuo - comedy gold, a favorite of mine. The pacing is blazing fast, so that might be an issue. MC has the same voice actor as Araragi.

My little reading break is over, gonna get back to Malazan book 9. Think I'm around 35%-40% through it so far.

I'll probably get to eps 2 and 3 of Owari s2 today too, but those are the exception for now.

Push yourself through to the end. It's got like the most complete ending of any long running show I've ever seen. The poll for just the last episode has it rated 5/5 by over 95% of the people that saw it.

I decided to watch the first ep of girls und panzer and it's pretty fun just based on the absurdity of its concept. In a way it reminds me of keijo just because everyone is so calm and routine about this completely absurd sport.

Not really hooked on the characters just yet but the premise alone buys it some time to get me invested. I'll probably watch through at least episode 3.

Think I will. Just read a chapter of Malazan and for some reason it's super hot in here, so I don't feel much like reading right now. Feel like book 9 is mostly gonna be setup work for book 10, since the author says books 9 and 10 are essentially one book broken up into two volumes. I don't mind setup at all, but it's not the most interesting part to get through. After I get over the hump and onto the downhill for the series, I'll probably pick up my reading pace quite a bit.
