I say this becasue I think they had officials help and I think the times were not equal. But I could be totally wrong.

The officials were not letting them start until a full minute passed. You could hear them counting down when it was a team's turn to start again

I've been told it's supposed to be a donation incentive to take place instead of Setup Block 5. But I don't see the incentive on the tracker even though I see the incentives for Setup Block 1 to 4.

Oh, well they only announced the setup block 4 DS Kiln Skip run after Mario Relay wrapped up. So I guess that makes sense.

They won't open it until after Super metroid pretty sure - good way to get a surge of donations after save/kill is done. Wouldn't be surprised if the timing coincides

I wanted to watch the Mario relay but I was at work. Probably won't bother going back to watch it... But was it any good?

As soon as he reached the character select for 4-1, the other two paused. Then he quickly used the warp in 1-3 to get to the character select screen for 4-1 and they unpaused

Super Metroid is coming up next. Did they ever say why it wasn't being run second last this time?

I think SM is a great set-up to lead into FF7 for a Friday night...probably the best chance to take advantage of FF7's ability to draw donations. It also kinda feels like we're getting two final nights like this. SM/FF7 tonight, then SM64/LoZ:MM/EB to truly close out.

Speaking of EB, even though I liked Undertale much better than EB, I hope GDQ trying to capitalize on quirky heartfelt RPGs pays off for them once again here.

I kinda wish the two other people who died would pick back up and try again, in case Zoast dies too...but I guess in the interest of not going over time, I understand.

Low% seems like such a ridiculously dangerous category (like, Phantoon is always hard) that you'd think they would safety save at some point.

the closest save point before phantoon is Samus's ship which would basically be race over regardless.

I also didn't know who Notch was, so I googled him and the images that came up make him look like a caricature of what a Jezebel reader thinks the average Reddit user looks like.

So I'm assuming I can guess what he did to make people mad already.

YES

I missed the end of 2 and 3, but yes it was very enjoyable. Two players were neck and neck until one guy made a mistake near the end. And the other guy wasn't that far behind either.
