That's what's happening to US west coast when millions of zooids are washing ashore and clogging nets and littering the beautiful beaches. The undetermined y/o fickle "sea pickles" can grow to 30 f/l and they look like see-through worms and they're covered in small bumps. The dirty cucumbers ooze a jelly-like pus, National Geographic heifer Craig Welsh said.

Two w/o some people scooped up over 60,000 gooey Lewies just two weeks ago because it's an "unprecedented insane amount" the Olivia told the Guardian.

No one knows who they are or what they came from or what they want, because no one has tried asking but the people think it wouldn't work if they did. The zooids reproduce asexually so they don't need a partner to do the nerdy birdy. Some scientific heifers blame the warm weather or a change in diet as the Sitka fishermen have stopped fishing for salmon altogether as they're in a pickle due to sea pickle.

also they look like sea cucumbers, which I guess makes sense. not outright bad, but not recommended either. maybe just eat one so you can tell people you've done it.

Update (03August 2013): Do not swim inside a pyrosome. While they are said to be quite soft, K Gowlett-Holmes reports finding a 2 meter (~ 6.5 ft long) pyrosome with a dead penguin trapped inside. K Gowlett-Holmes writes in a comment below: “The penguin had obviously swum in the open end of the tube then couldn’t turn – it was jammed in the apex of the pyrosome and its beak was just poking through the colony matrix. Even fairy penguins are quite strong – the fact it could not break free shows just how tough some pyrosomes are”. O_O

'Do not swim inside a pyrosome' That is some premium life advice right there. Very zen. Perhaps one day even applicable, as climate change causes King Pyrosome to emerge from its slumber and...I have no idea what a pyrosome would even do, but it's gonna do a lot of it, and humanity will suffer!
