3 days later he's 50-50 with a -11.

May not seem like much, but all Handel needed was a couple of percentage points to take this race.

Realistically, though, Dems stealing even one of those special elections would do a lot to build momentum for 2018, and also to justify the continued push against Trump's agenda. Every loss is less "ugh not another morale victory" and more "now the GOP is more emboldened to do the awful things they promised."

And unless the economy tanks, Republicans could end up keeping the House easier than expected. Of course, if they get health care through and it's as bad as it looks, they're gonna sink harder than the post-ACA Dems did.

If I actually thought there was potential for genuine and honest discussion, I think I'd like to know what's "average" left and "center-left" if 538 qualifies as "very" left.

(The key here being not to ask for "center" or "moderate" but to ascertain what, if anything, exists in that part of the spectrum. Because if there's nothing there than that's one hell of a warped spectrum.)

(Really, I'm just feeling very tired and can't bring myself to do much more than hide my points under snark because I just don't think there's any real chance for honest engagement)

My posts in this topic are very happy and are basically the exact opposite of bitter. Please cite specific examples proving your point instead of putting out meaningless platitudes. I'm happy leftists lost yet another election and wasted 40 million more dollars. They went all-in in Georgia, in hopes that flipping the district would send a message to Trump. They lost bigly. Liberals were hoping they could flip a bunch of red districts, but after losing an election where they spent 40 million dollars, democrats are going to be reticent to run in these areas. What likely happens is the country sharply divides into red states vs blue states on the hill, and there are more red states than blue states. If dems couldn't flip this district, what will they flip? That isn't me being bitter, that's just pure analysis. I'm pretty good at analyzing things after the fact, you know ;)

I am not a bitter/unhappy person just because I don't go along with the radicalized SJW leftist garbage that Board 8's liberals go along with. I've been much happier since I stopped posting here, which is not a coincidence. This is an extremely toxic forum loaded with extremely toxic people.
