Go explore to find out what you're missing. The world's a pretty interesting place, in ways that you can't get through a screen, or by having somebody tell you about them. You don't need to travel a lot, by any means, since travel isn't for everyone, but isolating yourself to that extent is a pretty miserable existence.

Well, It will be nice to see you in a few decades when your mom finally kicks you out and you understand how much more there is and that you can be perfectly fine on your own with therapy and probably some medication

good luck until then

Huh? My current plan is to buy a house after the dogs kick it in a few years. The target date is 2020 when I'm 30 and I'll have approximately $250-300k saved up.

I really do hope the best for you and your plans but let life happen. We all take risks socially, and sometimes embarrass ourselves royally at times(I do and say dumb things daily) and feel as outsiders.

I have been in what feels like a long term existential crisis (probably the last 5 years or so). I feel like there is no meaning to life. I basically life in isolation all the time that I am not at work. I don't think that talking to someone would help me resolve this problem, it feels like there's some greater life lesson that I've yet to learn. Furthermore, I am adamantly against taking any form of medication, and I've never had alcohol or smoked before as I feel that they're an escape and I would be giving in if I ever did.

You don't have to take medication. Talking to someone gives you the benefit of a new perspective. And you may not find any meaning because

You're missing experience. When you travel (or even encounter novel things) you will remember them and the time around the event. Travel is like a big memory reel you get to add to your brain. Doing the same thing day after day in isolation is depriving your brain of that experience, being able to process it and add it to your mental reference.

You can gain so much from new things. Meeting new people, seeing a different landscape, even the new sounds and scents of somewhere else. Anything to change it up for your brain.

I've been anxious and depressed from not being able to afford to do more with my days. One day it won't be like that.

Is there nothing you want to see? No place you want to visit in your lifetime?

I think you just gotta try it. How else do people find out if they like something?

Lots of people have a hard time stepping out of their comfort zone, though that means different things for everyone. Most people don't live as sheltered a life as you do, so maybe outside their comfort zone is like, going to Africa as opposed to the next closest big city. Obviously your comfort zone is very small, but you can grow it. Just take small steps instead of thinking you immediately need to go on a European backpacking tour or something

It's not that big of a risk to venture more than 15 miles from your home. It's probably a bigger risk to be a shut in

Depends on what's in that 15 miles but 20 extra years is a great deal. Personally, having been to (and lived in) other countries and states, I can say that it's somewhat overrated. I'd rather be in an area with everything. I would love to live within 15 miles of everything I want or need.
