im kind of bummed knowing that 1991>1994 was my regrettable pick costing me to be on the top 10 given that mario world was the only high tier game while 1994 had more mid center tier games. and it was almost entirely due to 1. @transience having a *great* topic where he demonstrated passion for years but more importantly 2. the contest being so predictable that i wound up on the leaderboard despite picking essentially a cookie bracket

Other than 1996v2000 and seeing 1997/2006 get upset this contest was a snorefest.

I just want a normal 1v1 character battle (first round being 12 hour matches is good too) It's been way too long and with Smash 4 it would have shaken up the contest, but that's getting pretty old as well.

only two kinds of contests exist really.
1) the ones that are more boring but focus ultimately on the site's population
2) the kind that are more exciting and will, in turn, bring in outsiders and the site will become overwhelmed by foreign voters

after the last couple contest complaints, you'd think something that gets the first more often would be considered a nice change of pace but guess not! yeah it's not something that makes you cheer for a particular team but at least we know this is what gamefaqs thinks.
