It's really bad for this to be reported and for nothing to come out of it. All it does is legitimize Trump's claims that the media is out to get him. The media needs to not actually just be out for cheap ratings grabs if they want to fight him. f***ing surprise though they actually don't give a s***

Well, two questions

1) Did they release/discuss anything other than his 1040 (Which doesn't show where his money came from, just how much of it there is)
2) Does this release support him being part of the Three Comma Club like he loves to claim to be?

Though it's worth noting that he only paid 25% due to a specific tax (that he hated). Without that tax it was 4%.

Given that it's a 1040 form, I assume Net.

Basically, from what I understand of the tax in question (Alternative Minimum Tax), Trump tried to shenanigan things so he only paid 4% on income tax, and then the Government said "f*** no, you pay 25%."

Note that I'm not the tax guy, I leave that to my brother who's an accountant.

This is 2005. Possible that more recent years have actually relevant info. Also possible it just shows him not making much money recently or something; who knows.

Ultimately, I think the answer is that he thought he could get away with it (and he was right).

No one is sitting there going "I didn't like Trump before but now that I've seen his 2005 tax returns I like him."

But it's the issue with the MSM with sensationalism over journalism. It's not fake news, its unnecessarily hyped news. This should have just been called "We have access to Trump's 2005 tax returns and we'll talk about what's in them tonight" not "Tonight at 9 pm we look at Trump's tax returns. Seriously" implying something more significant.

No one should be surprised that they went this route for ratings sake but it's largely a bunch of nothing.
