Also worth noting that when Arin was hanging around Jon (not just in Grumps), Arin was more inclined to use racially offensive humor...

...but now that he and Jon have parted ways, for the most part, Arin's actually become a lot more respectful of other people and is more inclined to be sensitive to other people's values.

Coincidence?

Maybe it's not fair, but it reminds me of when John Kasich was asked to be VP so he could handle all domestic and foreign affairs while Donald "makes America great again."

Since drone-strikes were usually a military decision before, I'm not sure if that means at the time it was more of a general's decision or commander-in-chief's decision...but either way you go with that, Donald probably didn't want to handle drone-strikes in this shift of responsibility.

I don't have a history of racism, so I'm glad to know that if I went around yelling the n-word at black people, you'd dismiss that as false new data and consider me a non-racist because it contradicts the old data of me NOT yelling the n-word at people.

oh, that one's new. i mostly just saw the first part comparing murder again and just dismissed the rest as i didn't know what you were talking about.

if you went around yelling the n-word at black people and had a history where you promoted the idea that all people should be respected, that they should all be loved - JonTron says those exact words on the stream mind you - and have been following these principles for at least the past few years of your life, i'd ask you what's going on as opposed to just going "oh, guess you're now a racist." are you doing this to make a point of some kind (e.g., Carlin's bit on language)? is this some sort of thing you have going on with a couple friends? my presumption would be that you being racist contradicts how you've lived and what you've believed for years so there's something else to it, not that you just randomly decided to hate black people.

edit:
now obviously maybe something happened and you changed. but i would not presume this by default and if there's clearer, more consistent answers, would assume those are probably the accurate ones.

Let me try to put it into words Wang can understand.

Let's say that I have a female friend and she's really nice to me. We're platonic buddies. Best friends even. And we hang out a lot and I find her fun.

Then let's say I find out that she's been abusive to her boyfriend. She beats him, emotionally manipulates him, yells insults at him, and then pulls the sobbing act to make him feel guilty for being abused. I witness this with my own eyes.

Do I, then, deny what I saw because I know her to be a nice person, so therefore, I must be interpreting things wrong...

...or do I break all ties with her and do my best to get her boyfriend to a place of safety where he doesn't have to endure her abuse ever again?

...so your answer to murder not making sense is to compare him to someone who beats and abuses her boyfriend.
that's slightly better than the murder analogy, i guess.

machete's analogy there was good. it's in the ballpark and you can generally have the two apply equally. person lives a certain way, has certain beliefs, something is said that would massively contradict them, you look to reconcile the difference. fairly straightforward.

i do not know how you thought domestic violence is a reasonable comparison, no. like you start with the right idea of it being a person you know and then randomly have her start beating the s*** out of her boyfriend and abusing him. what?

Wang tried to argue that Japan, quite possibly the most racist country on the planet, would have no problems with foreigners if they followed their rules.

Unsurprisingly this turned out to not work out.

it depends on the idolization. if it's business, education, or work ethic, there's value in all that.

but it's still very odd to be fixated on Japan there. Africa, Asia, and India are all explicitly used as examples so what's with the focus there? like this isn't a "well this one country..." issue because the argument doesn't care for that, it cares for the reactions certain people outside of them have. the people being criticized aren't the citizens of those nations, it's the busybodies in the US, France, Germany, etc. hell, in the longer example with Japan there that GMUN posted, i'm saying the Japanese are being racist. at no point does that imply that "oh there would be no problems if you follow their rules." that never got said, that never got implied, so what the hell is that? i can get GMUN not really understanding what he replied to if he just randomly saw that or something but SZ should know better.

I'll set aside that you didn't list any continents and just point out that you probably shouldn't have tried to use JAPAN as your base example, because that's just dumb.

there's always been tensions on that though. like yeah, that's our mantra, doesn't mean people have liked it. we've always had people that will literally beat our current culture into you if you're "too foreign," that thankfully seems to have mostly gone away. partially because you can go after them with internet instead. middle east just tackles a bunch of differences in one go; different religion, different beliefs and practices that are incredibly backwards by any modern standard. the former gets people on the right, the latter gets people on the left. that was actually jontron's issue, which he eventually got to, the issue of assimilation. doesn't seem like he understands the linguistic three generation rule and what that creates, despite living as the 2nd.

most of it is, though the first one for sure isn't. it's messier on stream because he makes massively large contradictions and topic jumps a lot. not included in that is his realizing that it's the assimilation into culture that he's worried about. that took a long time for them to get since Destiny focused more on race when that never really was JonTron's focus and it took him forever to realize that. JonTron's very ignorant of history, of how cultures change, on crime rates, criminology as a subject, and a slew of other things. he's pretty much never dabbled into political talk of any sort from the looks of it.

If this was Ted Nugent shooting Clown Barack Obama in a music video we would never hear the end of it.

Ted Nugent told Hillary (in absentia) to "suck on my machine gun". We heard the end of it pretty damn quick; I only know it happened at all because the Daily Show brought it up when Fox News was complaining Obama invited a rapper to the White House.

Edit: A quick Google search, and I must amend the comment: the machine gun line was OBAMA. Hillary got "You might want to ride one of these into the sunset, you worthless *****", apparently.

I'll allow that I'm not familiar with the details of the Ray Rice case, but my understanding is that what damned him is being caught on video. So I don't get what you mean? Like, do you want me to rustle up a video of Nugent at that event? Because I don't think that will be terribly hard, the Internet was still around then.

On the other hand, if you mean that Nugent didn't go to the degree of having an actual physical prop to represent his object(s) of hatred and Snoop did... well, that's coherent, but I don't see what it has to do with Ray Rice.
