the first 8 characters that were focus on the banners have animations. Marth, Lucina, Robin, young Tiki, Lyn, Roy, Camilla and Takumi. the only significance Robin has is that he's by far the most common due to being able to show up as 3* (and in fact, he can no longer appear as 5*).

I was pretty lucky with rerolling. My first reroll with 2 5* units was Lucina and Lilina and I kept it and have been very happy with it. I think I ended up rerolling less than 10 times total.

I got some special animation after summoning and it gave me Robin. Any significance to it or is it just a Robin only thing?

There are 8 characters that have a special animation just because. The animation will still occur even if you don't get a 5* version of the characters.

The first thing you want to do is figure out how to reroll for good starting units. Coincidentally, we're in the middle of talking about rerolling right now.

While I don't think rerolling is THAT important, since I'm getting by fine with only a 5* Camilla, it does help you get in a good spot against tougher enemies.

Takes about 6-8 minutes to reroll so I don't see the harm in doing until you get either a really good leader or one of your favorites given the amount of time you generally invest in mobile games long-term.

I literally just got through the Tutorial fight, so I don't quite know what Rerolling is! let along just plain rolling!

You should aim for at least one solid 5* unit to start with. It doesn't take that long to reroll and it's not that rare to get just one.

Rolling is the process of spending your Orbs to get new characters. Orbs are the premium currency in the game. There are free sources of Orbs but ultimately Nintendo wants you to buy more with real money. Orbs are reasonably plentiful at first but sources for free Orbs will eventually run a bit dry.

Rerolling is the process of using your starting Orbs to summon a bunch of characters. If you don't like what you see, you delete your game and start over to try again. In a way it's similar to soft resetting for good stats on a legendary Pokemon. By taking advantage of this you can ensure that at least your starting units are good or have characters that you like. After that, it's all up to luck whether you get good units or not.

Basically go through the tutorial thing. Immediately hit Home when it's an option and that gives you like 7 orbs from login. You should have 25 total orbs which is enough for a 5 summon (plus a single too if you wanted). If you get something you want, great. If not, go to app settings on your phone and delete the data, restart the app.

and I don't know whats "Good" yet!

maybe I should wait to play this game once they put in more characters, THEN I can start rerolling

Got 5* Azura but nothing else in that summon. Guess I get up to 20 again and pray I get something else good to go with her!

So I did a five summon and got:

I'm trying to think of ways to make this worse and coming up empty. Maybe a third Wrys??

Amazing that we get 20 Free Orbs, literally a free multi-pull with just that. Would be the perfect time to reroll.

Getting Setsuna as my new character is pretty whatever, but I suppose there's getting Felicia as a 3*.

Backed the f*** out since the rest were green units, which are no new focus units for. As tempting as it is for that very slight chance of getting Hector, I'm not taking it.

Hmm....not sure if Priscilla is really all that good.

She can buff Def and Res, which is good for tanking.

Also are Ninian and Jaffar good? Just got both of them 5* on same pull. Ended up with

Strikes me as a pretty good start if Ninian and Jaffar are good?

Ninian and Jaffar both came out literally a couple of hours ago so we don't really know for sure. At first blush I'd say they're easily two of the better ones from this new pack, with Karel being the other standout.

Karel is a straight downgrade from Lyn, major disappointment. not sure if those two are any better. Jaffar probably needs to take Kagero's poison dagger, Ninian seems like a worse Azura.

My Ninian's base stats were 16HP/17ATK/7SPD/7DEF/5RES if it helps.
Jaffars were 16HP/19ATK/9SPD/6DEF/5RES

Turns out all of the base stats are already up. +Spd/-HP for my Ninian. Yours is -Atk/+Def

she's not bulky. she has low attack. Azura can kill reds, 5* Olivia can even kill Hector. the only thing she has on them is teleport and a buff for a dragon team.

Sure, she's not going to be Azura tier, but that's a f***ing +6 Def/Res to dragons. That's a pretty damn significant buff. She's not Arena efficient though.

Or heck, in any case. She's a better Azura without a Falchion user around, as she doubles what Azura can do in buff standpoints under the circumstances that they work. With a Falchion user around... you'd wish you had Azura instead.

Yes, but he gets Glimmer active more than twice as fast as Lyn gets Astra. Lyn uses Astra maybe once per match, Karel will be using his skill nearly nonstop.

oh wait, Jaffar's the one with glimmer, not Karel. Karel has a 2-charge special. yeah i guess with specials coming out that often i can see an argument for him being better than Lyn, at least for now. though soon Lyn will be able to keep her desperation while inheriting vantage...

in any case it's not enough for me to want to draw for him when i already have Lyn and Lucina, especially with the rest of that banner. plus this is waifu emblem, may as well embrace it. or wait for his FE6 version, which is what i wanted anyway.

Karel's definitely a bit tempting to draw for. Shame nothing else on the banner really interests me though. On the plus side he's the only red on it. Would've preferred to take a crack at getting Marisa or Joshua first though.

I'll probably wait till close to when the next banner drops and draw a bit if nothing seems too promising.

I feel like for me a lot of the impetus to draw isn't there. I've got two of the best units in the game (Lucina and Linde) so anything else I get is gravy. I'm basically holding on until a character I really like comes out...Jaffar is close though.

I have a core of Lucina and RobinM, so I'm kinda waiting for a really good green or colorless focus. Green won't be on the table forever either because I'm probably promoting Anna to 5* once I get the feathers.

I'm not terribly sure what I'm after anymore, either. I've got Lucina/Ryoma for red, Hector/Julia for green, Effie/Linde/as of this morning, Ninian for blue, and Takumi/Elise for flex. All but Ninian and Elise are level 40.

I'm getting fairly close to my second 20k feathers, but I don't even know who I'm going to spend it on, because my team is solid on all fronts. Maybe Lilina for a red mage? Male Robin so I can run over Takumis? I don't even have that big a problem with Takumi, because everyone else I have can at least 1-for-1 him, and Hector slaughters him. Not to mention my 4* Robin is +HP -Def, which really kinda gets rid of his niche.

Now that I just got another good 5*, I guess I start hoarding and wait for Ike.

impulse pulled, got Ninian & Nino. now if i can just transfer Odin's tome to Linde, i'd have like the perfect nuking team along with Eirika. or if not, i can use Tharja. either way i'll need a few more feathers to up both Nino and Tharja/Odin.
