yeah, Erk is my boy.

I use a lot of the Lyn units because you get a lot of time to level them for the next mode.

Sain, Florina, and Erk specifically

Yeah all the Lyn mode early recruits were pretty much perma members for me. I loved Lyn mode, and I loved Lyn.

Though I heard this guy make a really good point about why Lyn is sadly probably the worst lord. Because swords are actually really bad in FE7. A good 50-60% of your enemies are cavaliers, soldiers, and even lance focused users (who can all use swords) can beat all the axe users in this game. You also get so many other good sword users, like Raven or Guy, which both of them get Hard Mode bonus.

There's no point in using Eliwood or Lyn, except after promotion, Eliwood gets a horse and a lance, and Lyn gets a bow, which is bad for low turns as well as not really preferable to Lyn using swords.

Meanwhile, Lucius, Matthew, the cavalier brothers, Erk, Serra, Florina, they were pretty much like the main members in all my runs

Hector is the best unit in the game so it's not really fair to compare Lyn to Hector. Lyn is not bad, but too fragile

Sacred Stones makes up for that by allowing you to have seven Sages.

I mean you lose some Bishops, which is terrible due to the enemies you encounter being free to Bishops. but the game's super easy anyway.

Eliwood actually can use the rapier in those chapters that are freaking full of horses. I think in optimal turns, Eliwood actually still ends up around Lyn's level by the time she rejoins. Cuz even Lyn can't really do that much in her own mode

More like 120. The other 30 was for Ninian. I'm kinda cool with not getting her since I only had 30 orbs by that point but... that combined with no Nino in 120 orbs kinda killed any desire to keep playing.

People calculated that you had over 10% chance to pull Nino from a single green orb during the banner event. Instead I kept getting Barst and Cecilia. Bleh.

Defence maps, reinforcements coming on maps, being able to equip items to heroes, incoming michalis, navarre, zephiel, xander, and lloyd in the upcoming grand hero battles spanning until may, and a new event that is kind of like perma death for units? I imagine they'll be wiped out for the event if they die and come back at the end? That's gonna be some intense shit and will be great. Arena is being fixed.

I was really expecting this game to be a shittymon go release. That game still hasn't recovered from the garbage it is. It's so sad.

I wish they'd fix the rates though, and the feather cost... merging is still not addressed. There also needs to be balancing if the way that they're gonna do that stupid skill inherit is only for the exact same type of unit...

- Inherit skills, merge allies

Merge allies is a really dumb concept to begin with in a game with so many characters and bad rates. I've said it a bunch of times, don't care for this part, and we have no concrete info on inherit yet. But it's nice to know that merged unit gets to inherit the skill... but that makes me fear that inheriting a skill is gonna be inconvenient

- Hero Merit

Not enough info... I guess it could be interesting

- New win conditions

Reinforcements, terrific. Maps need to be longer, and healers will be a bit more valued. But with such small maps... how are they gonna make this work? Defense, also terrific. There needs to be some reward for beating the chapter quicker than the turns stated, but if it's like an infinite reinforcements, maybe not.

- Adjustments on Arena

This isn't even an improvement. It's still whale centric, and doing what they're doing really doesn't affect the more commonly used units like Hector or Takumi. The arena is dead. The faster you guys accept it, the better. It's because they already catered to the whales, and they're gonna lose the whales if they do anything to affect the current equilibrium. And whales keep this shaky game afloat. THIS IS WHY THE STATE OF THE GAME ON RELEASE IS SO IMPORTANT. Gacha games can literally never ever nerf. Nerf loses whales. Arena, merge, both of those are here to stay as they are for pretty much the entire lifespan of this game.

- Notification - it's just a stupid small fix

- Expand hero ability

This is overdue. They should've had this stuff on release

- Grand Hero Battle

It's hard to get excited over this because they're so badly designed. 4* Ursula is a step in the right direction. 2 of 1 minute runs for a biweekly event is dumb.

- Permadeath (for events)

Pretty good idea. Maybe they're actually doing something that actually benefit from repeating. There's no rhythm to the way to play this game, and I've literally spent the last month logging in or spending like 5-10 min per new content. Think about it. There's no repeatable content in this game. None.

Welp, finally got my Nino. 3 stars, but +spd/-hp, so I blew 22k feathers and upgraded her despite knowing that the meta is about to explode. Feathers are such a limited resource it's amazing.

Anyhow, looks like cavalry teams are the new meta. With skill inheritance, you can run a team of Cecilia/Leo/Reinhardt/Ursula, 2 with goad cavalry, 2 with hone cavalry (meaning a constant +10 to attack and speed). Then you sacrifice four _blade+ , meaning each of them is getting +30 atk... at that point, you can nuke everything you want off the face of the planet from 2 range and 3 move.

Honestly? I think skill inheritance is the greatest thing this game ever did so far. Making it so free was a good decision because it's F2P friendly. I'm so glad they didn't go the same weapon and foot type bs.

It also makes rolling shit not that bad. Maybe my eternal hopes of this game actually coming good more than just a hope

Anybody got any sweet builds with the skill inheritance that I can steal?
Figured I'd make my -atk/+def Roy a little tankier. Gave him Fury and Threaten Attack. Also gave him Dragon Fang but now I'm thinking Vengeance or Galcies would have probably done him better.

32/31 defenses with 44 HP is pretty legit, but he's still just a jack of all trades master of none character.

My Roy has Sol, since Roy is meant to be a front line. Roy without Triangle Adept is pointless, since he's the best Hector counter. Seal def 3 and Threaten Attack don't stack. For C, any buff is fine.

He's not meant to do damage. He's better off surviving longer so he can apply seal def 3 more times.

Triangle adept actually reduces damage on triangle advantage. It makes Roy 40% more power against green AND 40% reduced damage. There's a lot of Julia and Nino out there. Roy takes 0-2 damage from them when attacked, and from Hector with Armads, he takes 0-4 damage.

The point is that it's absolutely free, but without Triangle Adept, he takes 10+ damage from Julia Nino Hector

If that's actually what Triangle Adept does then it's the most poorly worded skill in the game. It doesn't imply that it affects the enemy's attack power at all.

Also, the game doesn't describe how skill inheritance works at all. If you give Roy, say, a Killing Edge+, does he lose the Sealed Sword?

If you inherit Killing Edge +, you can equip one or the other in the equip skill section. Inherit skill is literally just getting that skill permanently for that character. Sealed Sword is better for Roy though.

And yeah it's a bad description for Triangle Adept, but people who don't realize this usually underestimate Roy. Roy is one of the cheapest characters to use cuz he already has a good skillset. You just need to know how to use him

It's like 7 damage with Fury 3 on. Julia I think hits for 11. FRobin and Camilla do 0 damage either way.

But damn if I didn't know Triangle Adept did that. I just looked it up and everything too. Bruh. What a waste.

I thought Fury makes you take some damage per combat though. But yeah, I only really know because I experimented, but it's definitely a really bad description

You take damage per combat, yeah, but it can't kill your unit. And I run Rehab Elise with him. Goddamn is that a lifesaver. Got him to max HP from 1 in one Arena battle.

I think the problem is that I'm using him like a tank when he's a good specialist that I didn't even notice he was. But at the same time he makes a good tank. So, like, it's not bad, per se, but I'd probably definitely get more mileage out of Roy if I utilized him more properly. I just couldn't resist with his such well rounded defenses.

Could someone eli5 for me about skill inheritance?

Triangle Adept is a great skill. Anyone who considers it as a negative for Roy is backwards. it's basically the only thing about him that makes in great in the meta

Yeah, and Roy is dual tanky, which most characters actually aren't. Even Sharena, who is known for her offensive tankiness, has pretty poor Res. Does Roy get destroyed by Blues? Even without triangle adept, he would've regardless. It's a pretty costless 40% buff aggregate.

So I just got orb presents the last few days as a "Starter" promotion and there's some new special maps that give out some as well

Looks like they're keeping the launch-release promo going under a different name :)

I think FE really wants me to keep playing. Ive only logged in for the bonuses lately, and my last two summons I got 5* Lucina, 5* Klein and 5* Priscilla. Not sure if the latter two are good since I think they are new (haven't payed attention), but Lucina is top tier isn't she?

The consensus seems to be don't pull any colour that doesn't have a focus, because those orbs have effectively half the chance of being 5* based on the apparent way the rolls are done.

Among the colours that do have a focus, there are some minute differences in 5* odds (red in particular is bad because there are so many red units), but nothing nearly as bad as the colours that don't have the 3+% bonus focus roll where you are basically throwing away your orbs unless you really want a Hector.

I really need more feathers. I mean, they've massively improved the rate at which you can obtain them, but it's still rather slow. I have a pretty big backlog of 4*s waiting to promote.

Nino is first, then Effie most likely, then Ursula, and then Chrom. That's assuming I don't pull any more good 4*s in the months that it'll take me to promote those.

My rate is 4.25% now and growing... Oh joy. Well... at least it was fun trying to get a team of lvl 40 Hector and 3 lvl 1s to beat 10th stratum 15 times. Ha, all that effort wasted for a bunch of stupid 4*s and none of my favorite FE7, a game near and dear to me.

I pulled 2 5*s in the first month in the game (Nowi and Seliph), but I've pulled 5 since BS has been up (Jaffar, Eirika, Peri, Jaffar, Klein).

I have 11 5* units up from 3 thanks to this banner.

I've only been pulling blue and gray from the banner and don't have anything interesting yet. There are a lot of free orbs up for grabs from the training tower quests but they take a while to get.

I did get a 4* Chrom when I was forced into a 3 red/2 green pick.
