I pulled my 5 Star Kagero by accident. I was going for blues, but the pull had no blues, so I pulled a colorless because I never pull them. It was a 5 Star Kagero. I was disappointed at the time because she's Hoshidan Scum, but she's an awesome unit so I've been using her.

I think they'll earn more money if they do the rates differently. Unshared rates bonus with weird skewed color thing that actually lowers your chance of getting 5* per orb, constantly changing banner with 11 units required for full merge is actually turning people off from buying orbs. Not to mention 3% is super low, but I think now they're doing a thing where focus units have a stacked %. I think that's a new thing, I dunno. I know people who would've spent like 20 bucks but realized that the same amount of orbs gave them nothing. Namely me and literally like 3 irl friends. And it's not like an increased rate will actually stop whales from whaling

Since you guys have crossed over into the dark side and bought orbs, which orbs pack are you buying?

Here are the ratios,

$1.99/3 orbs = $0.66 per orb
$5.99/10 orbs = $0.59 per orb
$12.99/23 orbs = $0.565 per orb
$19.99/35 orbs = $0.571 per orb
$26.99/48 orbs = $0.562 per orb
$39.99/75 orbs = $0.533 per orb
$74.99/140 orbs = $0.536 per orb

Just bringing this up to shed light that you're paying more per orb if you choose the $20 pack over the $13 pack (by $0.006 difference) or the $75 pack over the $40 pack. The differences are small but it adds up if a good segment of the population are spending money on orbs.

I'd say your main choices from best to worst deal with the minimum amount to do a full summoning session are

$40
$27
$13

So yeah, if you're going to cave, at least stay protected so IS doesn't squeeze too much money out of you.

Ignoring the fact that those prices are abysmal considering the number of orbs you need to get one 5*, that analysis isn't entirely fair.

If you want 35 orbs, and no less (say you have 5 already), then you're still getting a much worse deal by purchasing 3 + 10 + 23.

I was hoping someone would bring up the desire to target packs that get you closer to a multiple of 20 (I thought about this right as I was about to post but was too lazy to put some real thought into it). That is definitely a critical consideration, I only operated on a stand point of going from 0 orbs at the start.

But your example is weird, if you're going to a specific number, then you're hurting yourself; you're giving yourself a reason to go for the packs that have higher price per orb ratios.

Well that's how micro transactions work. Most people who aren't Moby Dick aren't going to buy in multiples of 75 all the time for maximum efficiency over many weeks. When a banner comes out that they're interested in, they'll buy just enough to make some number of pulls. Then when another one comes out in a month, they'll buy another small set. Obviously in hindsight they "should" have bought a large amount in bulk, but that requires foresight and control not to spend it all early.

Phew, this was the first grand hero battle I was actually able to beat. And even then just barely, my Julia was 1 Atk short of getting a kill and it turned into a bit of a mess.

I'm not even going to try for the 4* version, saving 2000 feathers is not worth the torture.

except it's not a fallacy. They do it on purpose where the more you fail the better your pull odds are. it's designed to have you waste as much money as possible, but it'a true, I pretty much have to keep pulling now because my odds are so much higher >_>

You shouldn't think like that because you'll want as many of them as you can get for skill inheritance.

He even beat it a second time with different units just in case. The thing is that it revolves around you having them up to 40. I've just been using similar units with just as good stats in that color and doing his strategy and I've been good. But yeah Subaki so gewd man. At least for these lol.

Did you even look at that video I posted? With some modifications you could do it.

I did it with Effie, Ryoma, wrys, olivia. But the red can be swapped out so long as it's a ranged one, or I guess a strong enough speedy one like Nino could take out that axe guy. TBH the best unit here is one who's physical and deals ranged damage more so than magic to deal with the ninjas. A kagero here would stomp.

So your effie can tank to the left of the trees, wrys and olivia give turns and heal, and your last unit can be a red mage, a red sword counter user (I had ryoma do this >_>), a kagero, or a grey who's fast and tanky, possibly gaius, setsuna, felicia, can all possibly work. Kagero would sweep here though.

You just need to figure out that fourth unit or do what that guide guy did and use sophia. I dunno why Raigh wouldn't work here but yeah. Otherwise you aren't getting that 4 star really.

Currently pulling for Kagero and building up Setsuna, but I doubt they will be good enough.
The video uses like Donnel and some other guy I don't have so... >_>

The only characters I have are:

Effie, Roy, Camilla, Ninian, Spring Xander, 4 star Catria, Karel

ever other character I have is no where near level 40 or the level required and it's not worth levelling Donnel and the other characters from scratch and spending all those feathers when there are only 48 hours left in the challenge.

I'd be willing to level a 5 star, but to level a 3 star to 40, then waste feathers , then level to 40 again etc

idk. I would rather try to figure out a way around my existing units and not build up bad characters like Donnel who won't have any use to me outside of this

I have some 3 star Ninos though that I might try to build up, but I don't have any stamina potions so it will be really hard for me to get her at 4 star level 40 by the time the event ends because I'll want to max her at 3 star for the extra SP
