Dixie Carter @TNADixie Impressed by all the X division talents we saw. Those who didn't advance are back at ppv in last chance fourway for 8th spot in tourney.
RUBIX! RUBIX! RUBIX!
The world may not be ready for a Zema Ion vs. Rubix vs. Kenny King vs. Rashad Cameron Ultimate X match.

It's four singles matches consisting of some combinations of:
Zema Ion Kid Kash Douglas Williams Sonjay Dutt Rashad Cameron (Sabian/BLK Jeez) Flip Casanova (Flip Kendrick) Kenny King ???
The "???" spot will be filled by a PPV-opening four way between Rubix (Jigsaw), Lars Only (Johnny Yuma), Mason Andrews (Scorpio Sky), and Dakota Darsow.
Then after those four singles matches, the winners move on to an Ultimate X match for the vacant title.
So really all we need now is the four singles matchups.

His response was that the deal he had shaken hands on and agreed to in principle "seemed fair at the time", but "others" had told him it was not, so he did not intend to honor it.
BTW I can pretty much take an educated guess as to the identity of "others."
His initials are A.A.

I know the sample size is very small, but I feel like this is the 3rd biggest "Champion of one company shows up on another show without permission" ever, after Madusa and Mike Awesome.
Still ahead of Haku!

Wasn't that fairly obvious? I think if you go back and look at who was in the ring all those times Madison was smitten, Hebner was the only one who was there every time. Definitely after they deconfirmed Garrett last week.

Dammit internet you made me miss Kenny king change promotions. Good call by him too I think. Roh really isn't using his talents well, Aries is a hell of a scout. King should have long gone singles career and is too good to be in roh tag division.
But that one smarts, bad. We were talking about roh potential and never mentioned him, even though he... Really has everything already. Huge waste on their end and can legit be a main eventer anywhere.

From: Masato_Tanaka | #323 So uhh, to a guy who barely watches TNA and pretty much never watches ROH....
What's this "champ from another company showing up" business about now?
ROH Tag Team Champion Kenny King's contract expired so he was on a verbal deal while testing the waters with all intentions to inform ROH with due warning if he found something better.
He shows up on Impact tonight to wrestle (and advance) in the X-Division Tournament totally without ROH's consent.
ROH has now cut ties with him entirely and the Tag Titles are now in limbo.

Also yeah pretty surprising about Kenny King, but I wonder if that was the best career move he could have made. Being in TNA probably pays better than being in ROH, at least as long you make it onto television regularly, but I feel like it's easier to get to WWE from ROH than from TNA, and that's where the real money is. Maybe he didn't feel good about his WWE chances or he decided to take the best offer he had now instead of holding out for a better one that may never come, but this may be as far as he's ever able to get now. Certainly the manner in which he left ROH can't be winning him too many fans among corporate types anywhere.

Roh prides itself on the tag division, which is legit the best in the world. Kenny king was one of the champs.
He bailed to be in tna as an X division guy. No doubt Aries is pulling some strings, but Aries is brilliant so this is really good for tna and really bad for roh. Lose major talent and a champion.

He already had WWE ties from being a contestant on Tough Enough Season Two.
They signed Shaniqua and Jackie Gayda over him in the final vote.
I would hold a grudge too. <_<

Roh to wwe cleanly is the normal way, but king probably wasn't getting to wwe straight either. They want Cole, may get guys like Elgin or even Eddie, but Kenny was stuck. Ideally, he would have been champ last year when the team was hot, and this year done some singles work. Really sucks for roh.
You're right though, for wwe and roh, they will consider him a bad prospect right now. Tna though will love it.

I don't really get why WWE is so averse to signing TNA talents, anyway. Since TNA is their biggest competition, wouldn't they want to leach away their talent pool?

Well, a fair chunk of TNA talents are guys WWE already cast aside for whatever reason.
And then you have cases like Samoa Joe where they tried to get him and he turned them down because he didn't want to play the Umaga character.
They signed Monty Brown, Chris Harris, Awesome Kong, and Frankie Kazarian. They're not TOTALLY averse to grabbing TNA talent, although those four experiences might understandably make them wary. <_<

Well, his biggest problem could be two fold. One, he's black. Vince doesn't like him. Two, he's black and resembles Shelton in appearance and in the ring. Vince really doesn't like him.
Or can tell the difference. Actually there's another big reason. Kenny was a stripper... And he isn't a diva.

And I never realized it until now but it does kind of strike me as odd that Aries's unfriendly ROH departure due to the changing atmosphere of ROH under Cornette is seemingly off-limits to Kevin Steen and his worked shoots. They let him mention Colt all the time.
There might be real bad blood there.

Aries joins tna and becomes one of their rising stars to the point of being in the main event and making the x division matter more than it has in years. To do so, he burns the roh bridge.
Kenny does the same. He however has much less success in singles career than Aries did at the same point, so it's truly a gamble. The two are friends.
There's a strong connection there. Hell, Hogan and Dixie might even like that he's burning his roh bridge. Shows guts, confidence, and that you really want a serious chance.
The only other major guy who has been with roh recently is Daniels, and he too goes to tna when they call. Daniels is a professional though. That said, in terms of contract agreements, I can see his words matter a ton, while Aries pushes.

To be fair, Aries had already burned his ROH bridge 6-8 months or so before signing with TNA.
When he left ROH he was working in DGUSA to make ends meet while trying out for Tough Enough and not getting cast, and then he took a chance on TNA and it paid off, otherwise he says he probably would have wound down his wrestling career for good.
