For those that missed it in the other thread:

- As was reported yesterday, WWE tried to get Bruno Sammartino to agree to be inducted into next year's WWE Hall of Fame as a headliner, only to have Sammartino's people issue a statement denying it once news broke.

According to reports, Triple H actually called Sammartino to convince him to accept the offer. Sammartino has serious and long-standing issues with Vince McMahon so Triple H contacted him and told him not to worry about Vince, and to think about his legacy and educating today's audience about his career instead. Bruno was said to be "not impressed."

Credit: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Maybe he thinks it's kinda pandering to have someone who was too young to appreciate what Bruno did while it was happening trying to butter him up.

But Trips is literally a student of the Game, (no pun intended). The guy knows his Wrestling history. He gets Bruno.

Right but look at it from BRUNO's perspective.

Also how does Trips introduce himself in that call?

Bruno: "Hello"
Trips: "Hi Bruno, this is The Game."

Isn't the reason Bruno's always said no because it's not a real Hall of Fame because it doesn't have a building?

I thought it was because he wasn't included in the first full class (not counting Andre going in solo to start the Hall, I don't think he has beef with that.)

He's kinda resentful that they want to make money off of his legacy.

But then I was like "Wait, what possible reason could he have to try and manipulate Bruno into the Hall other than legitimately respecting him and wanting him there?"

By the way, XIII, if you could send me the chat log of the Raw with the shoot interview and for Money in the Bank if you have it, I would make you a delicious chocolate e-cake in gratitude. (Actually hell, if it's not too much trouble, I'd take the entire month's worth of logs. Don't worry about it if you have to search through them to try and find them or anything tedious like that, though.)

Savage is more famous true. But this is like Pete Rose not being in the MLB hall of fame despite being the hits king. Its a huge glaring omission that brings the credibility ofthe whole idea into question.

To compare it to another sport, take two famous Celtics.

Larry Bird is certainly more famous these days than Bill Russell, but if neither was in the Hall of Fame, it would be somewhat more outrageous that Russell was excluded, even though both guys are first ballot material.

So I am catching up on my internets and looking into that PWR thing from last topic, and I gotta say my interest is kinda piqued! This Underground thing has room for improvement (get a second announcer and balance the sound better for starters) but it reminds me of the old WMAC stuff I liked as a kid.

-I like how they have a guy named Jobs. And another guy named Blades. I will be upset if they don't live up to their names. :\
-I like the format a lot. They have a match and some promos, allowing them to quickly set up characters I'm interested in following before my attention span runs out.
-I want a match with the guy who said he is the Underground. THAT'S GIMMICK INFRINGEMENT
-did they forget to tell 1600 that the SAT goes to 2400 now
-I'm...curious how exactly this is going to "tie in" to the main universe.
-So the "prodigal son" is a guy named Stone? What are the odds that somebody in creative is a TEW fan?
-WE'RE DEFINITELY GONNA FIGHT.
-I am kinda annoyed that they have spent this much time going on about Stone COMING BACK OMG PW3 without actually going into why this is a big deal.
-Announcer couldn't make up his mind whether Shana was about to turn heel or whether they're a sweet couple. C'mon now.
-This makes me wanna start some TEW games. >_>

-I'm...curious how exactly this is going to "tie in" to the main universe.
I think it just more or less establishes the question of whether or not the wrestling in the WRP universe is "fake" like it is in our universe or not. Clearly it's not.

The Underground in that sense firmly establishes that in that universe, when elite fighters fight, the end result looks a lot like what we would consider a pro wrestling match.

-Announcer couldn't make up his mind whether Shana was about to turn heel or whether they're a sweet couple. C'mon now.
Since this was filmed she's been signed to FCW, btw.

Armando Estrada, who has been under contract to WWE for the past eighteen months and only used on television once (as a manager for Tyson Kidd on the May 26, 2011 episode of WWE Superstars), announced Monday his departure from the sports entertainment organization. He writes:

"Espérate ... Espérate ... Espérate ...

I don't understand how they couldn't use Armando Estrada. I thought he was a great manager.

Getting back to Bruno Sammartino, hasn't he and Vince been on bad terms since the 80s? I could have swore that there were problems between the two shortly after Vince took over the company. Wasn't there a problem with David Sammartino not getting over, or something?

If that's not the case, then I do know that they weren't exactly on great terms when they were on the Phil Donahue Show back in '92.
