Game Informer has been a joke for years, nothing new here.

GI was right. Paper Mario TTYD was nothing impressive

Nintendo probably hasn't had a GotM from GI in ages, and that's their fault for making such a wiik system. Game Informer should focus strictly on current-gen systems, and hopefully other magazines will follow suit. Then maybe Nintendo will make a dedicated effort to make the Wii U a system that core players will enjoy.

They gave TTYD a hilariously low score and then defended it by saying it was a "very kiddie game." That's not game journalism, that's a 14-year-old on the internet explaining why he doesn't like Pokemon anymore. Oh wait, sorry. I guess that is game journalism.

I mean, the Paper Mario thing was ridiculous but otherwise Nintendo have gotten some pretty good reviews out of GI.

First off, two things: 1) I actually like Game Informer alright, and 2) I semi-agree with them on Paper Mario 2. I wouldn't go so far as to call it "kiddy," but I definitely feel like PM1 had more to offer for adult audiences. I thought a lot of PM2's humor was kind of pedestrian (though Luigi was god-tier in it).

Even I have to admit, though: Game Informer is definitely biased against Nintendo. Like, I'm not sure how anyone could actually deny this.

i don't read game informer but i doubt they're biased against nintendo games. they still review games based on how they feel the public will receive the game, right? i can't imagine the typical game informer subscriber is big into nintendo

Rawk Hawk was great too! But then there was all that lame stuff, like the little grey blobs, and Doopliss. It was a mixed bag of a game, though its soundtrack really was terrific.
