From: SmartMuffin | #403 Jakyl's irrational RVD hatred is one of the most entertaining parts of these topics!
It's really more of a professional dislike, not hatred!
I far and away respect him more as a person than I do Jeff Hardy. He doesn't let his habits affect his commitments, and by all accounts he's one of the most loyal husbands that wrestling has ever seen.

Really? That's amazing. I almost wish I'd bothered to watch this week just to hear their audience actually dissent for once.
It wasn't so much dissent as it was booing the heel, but it was like, a freudian slip sort of...
and by all accounts he's one of the most loyal husbands that wrestling has ever seen.
Well, not exactly a high bar <_<
On a different note, is there any word as to whether WWE has ever been interested in AA at all? This guy just doesn't belong in TNA... he belongs with Punk and Dragon...

5'10" vs. 5'9" according to Wikipedia, and same weight.
Hey, maybe as time goes on with Punk and Bryan getting some pull maybe he might GAIN some backstage support in WWE, but at this point Punk can't even get Colt Cabana hired. <_<

I totally agree that Aries is better, I'm just saying that Cabana would be of higher priority to Punk!
But hey, maybe getting this crapton of exposure in TNA can turn some heads too. Reports say that WWE is suddenly very interested in re-hiring Bully Ray as of late if they can get him, after HOW many years of not caring to resign the Dudleys?

As for the best in the world question I can't really find I can really answer those kinds of questions too well. I play favorites too much and also place too much importance on mic work.
If you're talking pure ringwork though I might go along with it. Hard for me to separate guys like that, though.
Not to imply Aries is bad on the mic or anything. But I've certainly never heard anything stellar out of the guy. Just out of TNA I'd probably still put Angle ahead of him overall, for instance.
-- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
Austin Aries is, in my opinion, the best professional wrestler in the world today.
i have been saying this for the past year! Aries is my No. 1. Dragon is my No. 2.
has been for over a year now, so yeah. but leave it to Aries and TNA (somehow!) to bring Aries out of ROH, put him with something that was considered almost a joke belt, and raise it so far that it's at the level of fighting main event guys.

I first saw him in 2009 when ROH got their HDNet TV show and I started following the company at that point, and since then I've seen him put on incredible ROH epics with guys of various sizes and styles, and now in TNA he has adjusted to the X-Division style which is much more compact and flashy and he hasn't lost a step. They said "Hey in this new spot on the card you need to do shorter matches at a higher octane" and before they finished the sentence he dropped multiple awesome matches on their doorstep.
He gets over in a smark crowd, and he gets over in a mark crowd. He can play the underdog, he can play cocky heel, and he can play cowardly heel. He's got it all.

pretty much, yes. he's all around got everything down and his ring work has been absolutely superb. don't forget how good he is with expressions either!
most of his top tier stuff you'll find in ROH when he was champ. hell, remember that Davey/Aries was by all means a MOTY contender (imo winner) in the same year as HBK/Taker 1. man's got pretty much everything you could ask for.
except height. but i do hope he gets to higher pastures.

I've seen maybe like 5 and I don't even remember them.
I'll get to them eventually. I add one thing to follow to my fandom per year. 2008 it was TNA, 2009 ROH, 2010 CHIKARA, 2011 local indy CLASH Wrestling, 2012 it'll be DGUSA when I get around to it.

Jakyl25 posted... Although if FCW kept pushing JR + Regal they might be on to something.
JR and Byron Saxton would be the best commentary team they could manage right now! It would be like Attitude Era JR and King but about ten times better!
Seriously, heel Byron Saxton on commentary is the best.
