Granted, he'd still be back eventually anyway, but had he won he says he would have done one more fight, the title fight against JDS, and THEN retired win or lose. Which means he wouldn't be here today since they're not doing the title fight until early May.

I guess he would have just done the same thing but the night after Summerslam instead of WM?

and if anyone in wwe management has a problem that YES has gone over like this so hard they need to get their head checked. having something leapfrog from wrestling into mainstream media, sports, and everyday life is a fantastic event that you would be an idiot to not capitalize on. sky's the limit on dragon right now, and wwe's in an excellent position to capitalize on it. he's high in the booking, he's got a HUGE fanbase, his gimmick exploded in ways that few others have - it's a perfect storm. whatever they were planning for him has to be over because you really can't ignore this. and if they try to, the chants will get louder.

and it's ironically because he was jobbed out at wrestlemania. whoever wrote that idea reaaaally screwed up.

man, imagine what happens when you get something bigger, considerably more mainstream, simpler, easier for crowds to 'get,' easier for people to get, have a hardcore dedicated fanbase that has been with you for YEARS, and, on top of all that, are a guy who just lost one of the two main belts in WWE.

edit: oh, and a billion times more talented in the ring and on the mic so even those WATCHING are enjoying the work.

and in the immediate aftermath he wasn't getting killed by kane. he was being shoved down your throat by cena, in raw's main event with cena, and even on the last raw what match finished the show? miz/ryder. yes, ryder lost, but that's because they're re-pushing miz.

and he's incredibly over still. half the guys would beg to be the guy killed by kane on a weekly basis because that actually means something. the payoff with eve is in ??? land, as he's got an actual storyline now. this from a guy who a year ago would've been fired. maybe a bit more now, but... yeah.

the difference between ryder and bryan is that bryan was put into his world champion spot independent of any kind of upswelling of grassroots support. as far as the company is concerned, his popularity and heat were created by them, so they'll probably be more receptive to pushing him

well, kane/eve looks dumb but is STILL removed from the peak of the ryder revolution. ryder was getting chanted similar to how dragon was last night - though not as often or as loud, which... is ridiculous considering nobody was over like ryder was. they were chanting ryder over the rock. guy would've been in the first batch of funkasaurus squashes if even around, but instead he... is fighting guys like the miz. and while that may not seem like much, considering miz has been in recent matches against guys like punk? seriously. jobber to upper midcard's a huge gap to leapfrog and wwe did it.


the equivalent of that for a two-days removed world champion is what? hell, half that? add in his talent, the simple and just plain fun use of the gimmick, it being an easy ACTIVE gimmick from the crowd, and the sheer love he's got from the fans and you've got somebody who can print you money. and wwe's no doubt gonna find out how much with the YES! shirts.
