And when I say temporarily I really mean temporarily because as soon as MSG realised him and Cobain were hiding in the same place, MSG punched him square in the head, causing Cobain's very existence to cease. MSG then took several minutes punching every exploded piece of Cobain into even more pieces, until there were essentially millions of Cobain pieces littering the street. Then, Minio summoned a City Council worker to work on cleaning up that trash from the floor. It was taken into a trash compactor and crushed utterly.

"Fair," said Comm.

Then Minio caused the trash compactor to explode, then sent the exploded husk into the sun. For good measure Minio also wiped out everything Cobain had ever done in his pre-b8b life, so his SAT score was literally erased, for example.

As MSG witnessed this rather complete death he had been distracted from the matter at hand, Caelus. MSG snuck into the building as Caelus rounded the corner to look for him. MSG prayed he would not be found as he used the elevator to ascend to the roof of this office block.

There was no disturbance.

"Moo," said Charles Barkley, which alerted Caelus. He hurriedly pressed a button which caused a giant fly-swat to appear from Charles' mouth. MSG could do nothing to avert his course, and he was smacked cleanly in the back. His apoca-fists did nothing to break the fall or, indeed, break the giant fly swat that hit him and smacked him clear out of the sky.

MSG winced, knowing this was likely going to be the end for him as he soared through the sky. He didn't know how he would land but knew it would almost certainly be the end of him. His nose began to bleed.

Fortunately for MSG it was his lucky day.

edwardsdv was walking down the same street, just several hundred yards away, with his back to MSG. Sadly he did not see him coming. MSG fell on top of eddv, apoca-fists first (MSG had the werewithal to do that), and exploded eddv. This gave MSG a kind of upwards cushion, breaking his fall and allowing him to land safely.

"Well then," said MSG as he went about his day. Charles Barkley growled in frustration, knowing he had not quite executed the kill.

(The Real) Chapter 24

nintendogirl1 was quite happy to have obtained a katana but then it began to fade away. This was a true shame but not one that was entirely unexpected sadly. XIII looked away from his readers embarrasedly, not wanting to reveal to them that he had meant to add this onto the last chapter and forgot....oh s*** he just did oh well.

Cobain walked through the streets, twirling his lightsabers fantastically. Suddenly, MSG appeared from around a nearby corner and they locked eyes. Then, for what would appear to be no apparent reason, MSG destroyed the concrete pillar of a nearby building with his apoca-fists. Perhaps he was simply trying to look tough? ("HEY! I'M THE ONLY TOUGH ONE AROUND HERE!" roared plum's Tough Beetle). Regardless, this was rather stupid, since this caused the building to collapse - or, at least, start to. Cobain looked at it in shock, then back at MSG who looked rather red in the face.

"DAMMIT! I'M GOING TO HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT!" shouted an irate Minio.
"Wait, really? You have to PAY for all of this city stuff? But how much would that even cost? And where would you even get that money? I-god dammit I need a drink."
Minio laughed at Comm's misfortune, turning her head back to the book. It wasn't really a book because the pages were made of LAZERS and the words were made of headless women making godless love to dragons made out of motorcycles, but it was as close to a book as Minio could conjure. Commodore's desire for a swig of whiskey intensified significantly.

In any case the building was collapsing.

MSG ran at Cobain, instead of away from the HUGE F***ING COLLAPSING SKYSCRAPER, for reasons that were totally unknown to anybody else aside from himself. Cobain backed away slightly but not completely, preparing to take this assault head-on with his lightsabres.

Truth be told the collision of the Apoca-Fists and the Lightsabres was kind of hard to judge. I mean the apoca-fists literally explode everything they come into contact with but at the same time the lightsabers cut apart everything THEY come into contact with. So basically I'm at a writing paradox here because I have no idea how to judge this and the whole "it's a tie, and they both create a whole in the universe and die" thing has already been done in that previous chapter, and I'm not quite that unoriginal. But I know I can't have these two collide head on because what the hell would even happen there.

So instead I will DEUS EX MACHINA the presence of Caelus.

Caelus arrived on the scene riding Charles Barkley, firing missiles and napalm. These melted the collapsing skyscraper, causing chunks of molten glass and steel to rain down on Cobain and MSG. This caused them to both try and escape, because neither of them had any means of actually attacking the airborne Caelus. As Caelus switched to some kind of rapid-fire machine gun, Cobain and MSG, temporarily allies, hid behind a nearby office block.

Well, I may not have got any kills, but I survived the chapter and DEUS EX MACHINA'D the s*** out of it...

funny story, my buddy and former roommate loved to yell DEUS EX MACHINA at the top of his f***ing lungs in public after we'd been drinking, and since we had been in the same Latin class in Jr. high and high school, we both technically know the meaning of the expression, but his definition was... "less literal" in the sense that I know it means "God from the machine" and referred to the end of a play, in which a God showed up and caused major damage or resolution (or less literally than a god, notably in my mind is Gangs of New York which I recently rewatched on netflix), setting the ending plot in stone in a sense... while my buddy thought (in his drunken state) it simply referred to him being God, which I argued against on several occasions, but he was too drunk to listen to me and actually out-crazied me (yeah, that happened as in someone did that O_O)

In any case, this chapter was especially awesome to me on several personal levels even though I didn't get a kill :).

Chapter 24 (The Real Real One)

JeffRaze was continuing his escape from the tyrannical BBallman7. It was terrifying to be constantly hounded by such a bizarre force of nature but that is precisely what JeffRaze was having to do. He was taking occasional potshots with his twin magnums, but was having absolutely no luck - the basketball was simply too fast and could move in too many different directions to cover, especially since the magnums were wildly inaccurate if fired while running.

Meanwhile, ngirl died from a heart attack.

Back to the action and Jeff dove through a shop window on his right, and the basketball could not change direction quickly enough and thus went shooting past. This bought JeffRaze some time, as he crashed his way through the shop - what was once a local convenience store. Sadly the shelves were empty as JeffRaze looked forlornly for something that would help him beyond, y'know, guns. Such as an exorcist to get rid of this demon, or a sack of some kind to catch him in. Maybe even a "basketball-be-gone" spray. Anything.

Jeff sighed, almost ready to give up, break down and allow BBallman to kill him. However, he saw, behind the counter, a back entrance and came up with a plan. A last ditch plan.

When BBallman finally slowed down enough to return to the store that Raze had escaped into, he found no sign of him for a moment...until he noticed that the back entrance had been blocked off with shelving that had been pulled from the shop to the doorway.

Bballman laughed at Raze's idiocy. As if that would stop him, the most lethal basketball in the land. Bballman bounced twice off the floor and then hurtled like a bullet at the stacked barrier that Raze had prepared.

Unfortunately Jeff had just done something quite spectacular; he had outsmarted a literal basketball. Just behind the stacked barrier, he stood, stoicly and firmly, with his back against the wall of the storage room - with his riot shield out in front of him.

So while BBallman successfully crashed through the wooden shelving, he faced a more difficult task with the extra-tough riot shield - one he could not complete with sheer force.

Indeed, I did.

...anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, BBallman colliding with JeffRaze's riot shield. Well, while Bballman bounced clear back the way he came, Jeff did not get off so easily either. Bball had been travelling at such pace that Raze himself was thrown back, riot shield and all, through the wall.

Now, usually GameFAQs Flash is not capable of surprise but he did feel some here, since he and Silverliner were just passing the back of the convenience store as JeffRaze was thrown out of the window. Jeff did not see Silver and GameFAQs Flash, and they were momentarily too surprised to act. When they recovered, Silverliner shrugged; he basically knew he had the game won with the power of GameFAQs Flash, so he saw no reason to actively pursue Jeff. Until he looked down, that is, and his blood boiled in anger.

BBallman returned through the hole Jeff had created. "Stop!" shouted Silverliner.
BBall did so.

"So you're a basketball," said Silverliner. "Cool. You anything to do with this hole here?" he asked, waving his arm at it.

"Yeah, I did that," growled BBall. "I'm trying to get revenge on the guy who killed me, so if you wouldn't mind..."

"...Oh. So he killed you and you reincarnated as a Basketball?"
"Yep."
"Alright. Well, that son of a b****," said Silverliner through gritted teeth. "he...he got some rubble on my shoe." He pointed at the offending Italian Loafers, now stained with a small amount of rubble and dust from the collapsed wall. "So we'll give you a hand. Flash, could you...?"

"Sure thing," said GameFAQs Flash, who during the conversation had been impregnating several women of the past. He took some time off to do a favour for his buddy Silver, however, and returned his focus to the present. He looked at Bballman, shrugged - this not being the most unusual thing he had seen, even today - and donated just 0.01% of his internal speed force to Bballman.

Suddenly BBallman was overwhelmed with an insane amount of energy, and, more importantly, speed. The speed... fueled his anger. But conversely, the anger fueled his speed. "He's that way," said Flash, pointing in a forwards, diagonal direction. "Go straight that way and you'll hit him. You should see a little mark to point out where he is, even through walls. I gave you that as well."

(Flash could of course see everything and everyone, regardless of walls, he just couldn't be bothered to kill them all yet, and neither could Silver)

"THANKS!" roared Bballman. JeffRaze was a speck on the horizon at this point, barely even visible - he must have been 20, 25 blocks away - but Bballman smirked and accelerated towards him at a phenomenal speed.

JeffRaze panted and turned around to check for BBallman. At the entrance to an alley, he stopped running temporarily, listening intently for anything at all...when suddenly he heard walls nearby collapsing. He spun towards the sound, which was coming from the bottom of the alley, and raised his magnums shakily. If this was BBall, then this ended here either way.

Suddenly the wall at the far end of the alley collapsed and BBallman appeared there. Raze stared at him in horror and pulled the trigger on both Magnums.

Both bullets found their mark, but BBallman simply vibrated at such speed that the bullets went straight through, hitting ExTha's turkey arm in the arm.

Raze looked at BBallman in terror. "What...what...ARE YOU?"
"I'm a basketball holding a grudge."

With that elegant parting shot, BBallman launched into a literal shot that was far less elegant, but far more brutal, launching himself right at JeffRaze's body, leaving a clean hole in the stomach. BBallman looked at it in satisfaction as Raze staggered, turned around, and managed to raise BBallman's old magnum one more time and fire it. BBallman simply smiled and hurtled straight at the bullet, which passed through him, before colliding with Raze's head in a fabulous explosion of candy, viscera and the cartoid artery.

"OK, so can we finally get rid of that goddamn basketball now?" asked Comm. "He was really starting to annoy me towards the end there."
"Alright, sure," said Minio, who was in an uncharacteristically pleasant mood, for no reason at all. Minio summoned the demonic spectral mirage from Jupiter's Hellfire that she always used for such special occasions. "What effect would you like?" asked the mirage. Its tail swung about wildly, knocking some of Minio's monitors askew. "Fade-out, like usual? Straight disappearance? Explosion? Death by Insanity?"
"I'll let you choose," said Minio to Comm, since she had been sensing a lowering of morale recently.
"Really?" Minio nodded at him. "Hmm. Well, I always think the fadeout is a ~classy~ choice but I think here we'll cause the basketball to explode."
"Sure thing!" said the mirage, hitting a button on her wrist. BBallman7 exploded spectacularly and the mirage disappeared.

"Now, on to the final 14!" said Minio. "Who is your money o-" suddenly, something caught the corner of Minio's eye.

Bballman's exploded pieces began to reform. Slowly, the basketball pieces merged and combined, eventually resulting in Bballman returning completely to normal (or as "normal" as a rogue basketball holding a grudge can be). He roared in pleasure at this.

Sadly for Minio, Comm and the long-disappeared Mirage, Bballman's desire for violence had built up over the long chase of JeffreyRaze - and had not been satiated by the death of his quarry. Combined with the bit of Speed Force he had been given, this created an insane hybrid of insane things that could not simply be destroyed by Minio or Comm. He had become the spirit of chaos itself, or some other JRPG cliche. Regardless, he now thirsted for more murder.

Yes, Bballman7 was going rogue.
