It's an ongoing e-pop contest influenced heavily by pro wrestling. Users compete in matches for a variety of titles and tournaments, and voters pick the winners! There are plenty of gimmick matches and such to spice up the format, as well.
What do I need to do?
You don't HAVE to do anything, but participants are heavily encouraged to at least vote on UCA cards. It's more fun for everybody the more people get involved, though, so you're also encouraged to cut promos, start storylines, form alliances and tag teams, and talk smack in the topics.
So there are no requirements at all?
Almost. Three times a year, there's a roster purge period. If you don't vote during any of the 10 shows in that time frame, you're in danger of being purged from the roster! We're in the middle of such a period now, but I'm not going to purge any new signups, so you're set for four months or so. Even if you do purge (or just decide to quit) doors are pretty much always open to come back later!
What's the schedule like? How long until this crashes and burns?
There are three "TV" shows a week- Wednesday Night Ruin (posted late Tuesday nights), Wednesday Night COMBAT, (late Tuesdays) and Friday night Eruption. (late Thursdays) In addition, we have a more important "PPV" show every three weeks, posted late Saturday nights. (Shows are named after when voting ENDS, rather than when it begins.) We are not always the best about sticking exactly to schedule and sometimes have to have cop-outs like double cards, but UCA has outright missed only a handful of shows in its almost three-year history.
How often will I fight?
The idea is that everybody gets at least one match a week, and we rarely mess that up. The more successful and active users will tend to get more matches.
Who's in charge?
I'm running the show at the moment, and have been for over two years. XIII is the GM of Ruin, and I have some admin help from a variety of volunteers. The project was initially founded by Icehawk, and taken over by JaKyL before eventually passing on to me.
What's the structure like?
There are three "divisions" for singles wrestlers- Heavyweight, Middleweight, and Lightweight. It's a loose sorting- people change divisions rather frequently, especially since I try to keep them roughly balanced in numbers. You'll fight people MOSTLY in your own division, but not always. There's also a (THRIVING) tag team division that needs some fresh blood...and it's not mutually exclusive with a singles career, either. If you sign up, I'll figure out somewhere for you to go after I give you a match or three.
There’s also a recently implemented BRAND SPLIT, whereby each participant will belong to either Ruin or COMBAT. Ruin and COMBAT will be exclusive to wrestlers from, well, Ruin and COMBAT, while Eruption and PPV’s remain all-inclusive. Each brand has its own titles- both brands have versions of the HW and MW titles, and COMBAT has MELEE MAYHEM while Ruin has the LW title. Tag titles (and Jesterdom) are crossbrand, and the tag champs may appear on both brands until they lose the belts.
How about rankings?
There's a rubric for rankings within a division. Rankings aren't all THAT meaningful, but basically, if you beat somebody above you, you move to the position above them. If you tie them, you move to the spot below, and if you lose, nothing happens. You can't move out of your division this way, so if you beat somebody in a higher class than you, you just become #1 in your own. Battle Royals and some other gimmicky matches don't impact rankings. You can see the current roster and rankings in the master file linked at the top.

Ayv clearly benefitted from the higher Epopmania votals. It was not your usual match, so I gave KCF the rematch he deserved. How was I supposed to know he was better than Ayv in every way?

In my defence, I explicitly stated that KCF's was "imaginary". I granted him a rematch because of inflated Epopmania votals and because he was probably Ayv's best opponent.
Plus I wanted to use all my guys on the first card, which I did.

Alright you incompetent pieces of ****, I have an announcement!
For way too long, I've contented myself with making small moves towards glory and supporting others I liked on their quests to the top. But no more. Now, it's my time. What does my time entail? My time entails getting to the top and tearing down every single idiot who somehow got up there. The self-serving management who sit in their chairs looking smug and halfass it when they do have to fight. The losers who have to rely on others to win more than one match every six weeks. The inept light-weights who suddenly found themselves in over their head thanks to those losers and were granted mercy. Boko and Dante, who are good people but unfortunately must fall by association. And my good friend ctes, who puts his all into every match and will be spared unless he crosses me.
But the worst of this entire lot. The man who rose to the top on the whim of one man instead of actually earning his way up. Chronic1000. As I'm sure most of you are aware, Chronic became King of the Board in a Guest-Ref match, after making it that far in spite of having no rights to do so, and no matter how you look at it, the inept man was in over his head. And yet, he won. He won because Tom Bombadil's pet rock (Maniac64) wanted to spite Edwardsdv. And as worthy of a cause as spiting Edwards is, the alternative in this case, as you guys have seen, was pathetic. But what has our oh-so-great King done since then, may I ask? The answer is, of course, absolutely nothing. He's had a few matches out of obligation, and he may have even voted more than once. But when you get down to it, this failure of a human being won one of the most prestigious titles in the fed on the whim of a guest ref, and has done nothing for the fed. Not before, and certainly not after.
Of course, he's not the only problem with this fed. He's just the most typical example. On the other end of the fed, you get the GMs and their lackies, who, in spite of running the show, are more or less the same way. They bring in bull**** like brand splits and encourage factionalism to make it look like they're giving us, the people, what we want, while in reality, they're not doing anything (Booking shows aside, I guess), and instead are just piggybacking off the hard work and ideas of us, and getting away with it because they have the books. On the other hand, though, you have the idiots that are all too quick to run to somebody else for help when they can't cut it on their own. The guys who respond to the GM's provocations and their own weakness, and induce the factionalism in this fed. Guys like ExThaNemesis, who had fallen so hard that he needed to grab people to help him fight. These men, too, are what is wrong with the UCA today. Their stables and teams undermine the very core of the UCA. And frankly, it's pathetic.
Anyways, the point here is that these men need to go down. It's time for a reality check, and none of you bastards are good enough to deliver it. Heavyweights of this fed, watch your backs. I'm going to tear each and every one of you down until this fed returns to what it was.
From last topic, I agree with GTM's style of MitB cash in. Still leaves the door open for a loss if they aren't smart about it, but gives a huge advantage to the challenger.

That was sarcasm; this is terrible booking. You fools have no idea what you're doing. You just aimlessly stumble around and hope that you accidentally put together a good card. And I'd like to think maybe one day you'll get so lazy that you just delegate your booking to someone who's got their act together like the Executive Vice President of Talent Relations Mr. Maniac, but I know that's too much to hope for. Instead he'll probably get stuck playing lackey to the much less talented Bombadil for way too long, just like I'll probably get stuck working crummy undercard matches for way too long! And why is that? Because the people in charge right now - have no eye - for talent.

But I, I actually have a 100 chance of winning cause you ctes knows you can't beat me, and you shouldn't even try! So ctes, you take your 50 chance and you minus my 33 1/3 chance and you have a 17 and 2/3 chance of winnin' at King of the Board! But then you take my 75 chance of winning if we was to go one-on-one and then add 83 and 1/3 percents, I got a 163 and 1/3 chance of winnin' at King of the Board!
