Whoa, dude. 4 seconds per song is WAY too fast. I couldn't even type the answer to some of these before another song had already come and gone, since I needed full names in a lot of cases. Like 3:29 couldn't just be shortened to the first six letters, i.e.? I got 4:14, but I would have abbreviated it to 3 letters, with or without the number. Et cetera.
Number I got officially: 43 Number I knew (for certain) but went by too quick to process: 10 Number I listened to afterwards and went "oh yeah": 14 Number I had no chance at: 43 And there was one that I have to go "WHAT!?" to, because I *know* I typed in Metroid Prime. I also misspelled 2:53, even though I knew exactly what it was, because I remembered the third word wrong.
Thank you for at least not including any of the myriad Beatmania songs, because I would have hated to try to tell you exactly which version each one was.
Anyway, while we're doing Sporcle quizzes, maybe now would be a good time to repost the one I did of my top 50 from the ranking, in no particular order. (And I think I got exactly zero that came after #500, btw.)
Just took my own quiz. I missed one because that quiz wants the song titles, and although it sometimes takes the game title, there were two World of Goo tracks and I couldn't remember what the second one was called. ><
Of course, I would have done far worse if I hadn't been the one to design that one. Ed got something ridiculous like 47/50 the first time he took it. I wonder how he'll fare on a second pass.
Yes, I did realize, and I did go through the whole thing in entirety twice, but the leftover time was spent with me pausing the video so it stopped distracting me from my current objective and I could actualy think for more than 1 second about what game I was listening to and how to spell the name of it.
Anyway, tempted to take it again, but eh, that's not really fair. Even if I would know the correct spelling of "Giana" now...which nobody has (officially) gotten right yet, I might add.
I rented this game once back when it came out. I thought the graphics and style were fantastic, which is a descriptor I doubt it lives up to these days.

ONLY FIVE CAN LADDER. Sushi, kamikaze, fujiyama, nippon-ichi...
As a sidenote here, I got Kid Icarus Uprising a couple days ago and that game's soundtrack is phenomenal. Sadly, the facts that 3DS games have yet to be decrypted and that the official OST release via the Japanese Club Nintendo is still a few weeks away are preventing me from uploading any songs from there (at an acceptable quality).
VGMusic of the Day 569: Ape Escape: Pumped & Primed - Megabreak
I just found out the title is actually "Megabreak", not "Mech Break" as it has been listed on translations for several years. Anyway, here's a pick from an album with some slightly underdeveloped, but nevertheless great tunes by Soichi Terada.
Hopefully my explanation is clear enough and holy crap there was so much to put in the description the video was uploaded before I even got to the tags.
