VGMusic of the Day 597: Mr. Driller - Georian


This track hails from the very first Mr. Driller game, as composed by Go Shiina. He does a great job with all of the music in the series. This one might not be as grand or flourishy sounding as the other tracks, but I consider it a classic.

Those little comments of Kaleb would be nice to put them on the video descriptions, Y'know.

Well... it's definitely kind of soothing even though it sounds really weird at parts, but finally we have a song title that actually matches the theme of the song in question.

Well, by theme of the song I mean "overall sound" or "tone" of the song. Most songs are used in a specific context, while many of them have a title that doesn't match the song itself at all. I like the fact that this song wraps up the feeling of being "forgotten", as the title suggests.

I know I already posted a track from original PS1 Spyro trilogy back in January, but here's another. Check out the sick bass guitar in this track by Stewart Copeland of "The Police".

Lightning Chariot Base is pretty good. Prefer some of the character themes though (Dark Pit's Theme, Hades' Infernal Theme, The Dog's Theme, Little Girl's Theme).

There's no freakin' way Motoi Sakuraba, Yuzo Koshiro, and Yasunori Mitsuda (along with two other guys) could have composed this thing.
