Yeah, I haven't had the ability to play it but FE12's Lunatic difficulty is apparently the toughest thing the series has thrown out since Thracia 776, so if that trend continues, this game will still have a pretty nasty challenge on its highest difficulty.

Sounds amazing to me. As much as I love FE, it is just not fun to be 30 minutes into Cog of Destiny and have one slip up let a Myrmidon get to my Bishop and one shot her with a crit. While I'll still play as if permadeath is a thing, not having to restart for such as someone who can't let characters die like myself is great.

Same. I can usually get the drive to finish the game if it's my first time through, but for later playthroughs, dying a couple times 30 minutes into a level severely jeopardizes my chances of ever finishing that playthrough.

Supports officially started with FE6, but 5 had support bonuses that weren't associated with conversations and the whole thing is very much based on stuff 4 did.

That said, supports are highly overrated anyway. The highlight of the series is simply extremely fun gameplay

Elsewhere in the interview, the team introduced a new feature that players who've already picked up the game (it sees official release today, but, as usual, some shops were selling it in advance) have probably stumbled upon. Even when the game is off, time flows in the game world. Your characters will head off on their own in search of items and also build experience. You can see what types of items your characters have gathered by visiting the pre battle prep screen.

...This seems more worrying though.
