10 - The perfect character.

He starts out completely in his own element and his own comfort zone, and when completely displaced from them he acts realistically and accordingly. He overcomes obstacle after obstacle with a surprisingly mature demeanor- especially toward the end of the game, and his character experiences phenomenal growth for it.

His design's not bad and he's a beast in battle. Tl;dr Tidus is awesome.

I really liked Tidus on my first playthrough and in fact he was one of my favourite characters but I played it again and saw the whiny annoying side more and it lwoered my opinion a bit.

I don't really like Tidus. I know the point of his character arc is to go from spoiled brat to responsible hero, but I never really identify with him or his reasons for becoming a hero. I don't like his character design. If I were being completely biased, I'd give him a 2 or something, but I recognize that there is depth to him. I just plain don't like him.

I don't really get people who call Tidus 'whiny' or a 'spoiled brat' to begin with. His complains throughout the game are pretty much entirely directed at how messed up the FFX world is, and he's right and works to change it.

Guns don't kill people, Kinder eggs do. I saw it in a post on GameFAQs. ~FAHtastic

8.5/10. Has his flaws, but that's not a bad thing. In general, I think he's pretty great; a terrific example of how you do a point of view character. He's thrown from a world much like the player's into an alien one and his reactions to it are believable and not glamourised (well outside him suddenly knowing how to use a sword).
