Surprised RSE made it and DPP didn't.

At first I thought so too, but if you think about it, the people who constantly keep up with Pokemon would put in their votes for B/W instead, leaving the people who really like R/S/E to put their votes decently high enough for it. Which I guess would the people who really liked the GBA. I mean D/P/P hardly had any votes at all.

this is the only one I don't get. I like FE but this one just doesn't really feel like a FE game, I'm always surprised when this gets rated to highly.

Why yes, OoT has 193 points, while SMB3 had 162 points.
So yeah, it won pretty comfortably, though SMB3 only beat LttP by 1 point.
Basically how the points went down for the most is that there would be a group of games that would be close to each other in points, then a gap in points, then another group that were close in points.

And if you must know, F-Zero GX and FE4 both had 16 points, but since F-Zero GX had a bit more frequency it got precedence, which is how I took care of ties.

Honestly this probably would've been the exact same top 5 five years ago.

Definitely coulda been. Melee could have finished #1. Board 8 loved the hell out of it before Brawl came out.

It's more the order and the series saturation that I dislike on ours

I mean it's not missing too many important games when you look at the whole list but so much Mario/Zelda clutter towards the top

Famitsu list wins this one, especially for Zelda. Definitely could have been better.

Edit -- Board 8 does come out ahead with Metroid. Not hard to top a list with Metroid 1 / 2 as the only Metroids, though!

Aside from the oversaturation of Mario/Zelda, which was to be expected, since when you think of Nintendo you think of those two as their best, I honestly don't find it to be too bad of a list.

The stuff that isn't Mario/Zelda being on there is pretty good if I do say so myself and I really liked seeing Kirby Super Star being so high up there and Kirby's Adventure actually making the list.

Though the only thing I found to be strange was Super Mario Kart being the highest racing game on there but whatever.

This is a good point, actually. Really sucks that Japan hates Retro-developed Metroid so much.

A few other things our list deserves props for:

-Pokemon GSC being the highest-ranked Pokemon game. Hell yeah.
-SMB3 > World.
-Having EarthBound high on the list. (This shocked me - B8 seems to be a reservoir of EarthBound hatred.)
-F-Zero GX being on there, albeit way too low.
-Not having Magical Vacation, Super Mario 64 DS or Volleyball. >_>

Mother 3 seems to be universally loved around here, but it always seemed to me that B8 was unusually critical of Earthbound. As for the Mario RPGs... hooray for SMRPG being the top-ranked one! It deserves it for sure. Such a good game.
