I'm a completionist and I've heard this game gets carried away with some of it's stuff. Not lookin forward to that!

while not on the same level of KB, I think Lightning is hawt. even though shes just cloud with a vag apparently

Lightning doesn't even look like Cloud! She did in early concept stuff, but not in the final product.

as I was posting in this topic, I had the game booted up and it played an opening sequence showing off alot of the landscapes and cities they've created

I'm extremely impressed with what they came up with. I'm sure I won't be able to explore any of it though

The entire party riding on that machine thingy gave me a nostalgic, adventurous feeling that I used to have when playing old RPGs

I'm feeling good so far

the red dogs\foxes\animals that were running in the scenery obviously reminded me of FFVII

I'm extremely impressed with what they came up with. I'm sure I won't be able to explore any of it though

I actually think my main problem with FF13 wasn't the linearity so much as they made a fairly cool world and you hardly go to like, 1/4th of it or less. (Granted, this is somewhat of a by-product of the linearity, but they COULD have sent you to more places and still been linear)

So I actually fairly like that 13-2 is coming out for alleviating that problem alone. The plot still needs a kick in the pants too, though. Hopefully it'll alleviate that problem too.

okay so its starts off with some priests lookin dudes on a monorail, with a robotic sentry checking up on them

Lightning busts out and kicks some ass as the battle theme blasts in

Palmer shows up out of no where and is like I"M NOT A SEAL LOL and has a Frocobo in his hair for some reason

and holy ****, Lightning is straight up MURDERING these dudes. at first she was just kicking them, I was like OH ITS LIKE NINJA TURTLES SHE WON"T USE HER WEAPON but F*** THAT she starts shooting them in the god damn face. Oh man what a way to establish the badassery here. If they still refer to you losing all you HP as getting "KO'd" I'm gonna be pissed. especially after seeing that

I seriously can't be an artist for maps or scenery, I lack the imagination, so seeing the area that the monorail leads them to completely awe strucks me. I'm a sucker for scenery porn

then suddenly theres lots of soldiers fighting in gun battles and this gigantic monster shows up and people are dying and WHATS GOING ON NOW

That's actually a fairly valid point that I didn't think of, too. While the setting is well done, they don't really do anything with the setting. There are bits and pieces of good stuff here and there, but overall it does feel fairly lifeless.

EDIT: In fact, the beginning stuff PUN is going through now is one of those good stuffs I'd say.

the battle system seems interesting

its turn based, fast paced, can queue up actions.

I just don't like how the partner is on auto pilot

I hate Ash and everything about him

Nio loves Ash and everything about him

shes always sending me pics of Ash over AIM to either torture me or try to prove Ash is a good character, even though some are Yaoish >_>

and it got worse when I revealed to her that I hate Ash even more cause I have a poster of KoF XII (which itself is a haunting reminder since that game ended up sucking so hard) where Ash is primarily featured on it, complete with an ass shot, and I haven't taken it down cause of the Clash of Ryo and Terry

so yea, in other words, its an inside joke I guess

so far I'm just running along killing baddies, I'm still enjoying the battle theme, I don't think it'll get old

I've noticed that you get ranked for every battle

any advantages for higher scores?

I'm noticing that the robo dogs can be "Staggered" when I strike them enough times quickly

and when I win the battle, I receive an item called "Chipped Fang"

well anyways, the bridge was blown up and Lightning says screw it, snaps her finger and STARTS FLYING

Palmer is like DON"T LEAVE ME HERE and tries to grab onto her but she starts beating him. Then her power wears off

it was kinda uncomfortable to watch him beg her (instead of trying to prevent her from rushing in or something)

but she lost the power the second he let go

I wonder if he knew it would wear out and basically saved her life

He then suggests using a machine that arrives nearby and she agrees. I'm wondering why shes still keeping him around after that stunt

alright, so the game then pans over the battlefield over some shmos fighting the robo men

obviously some sort of resistance scenerio going on here

I see a big guy with an orange hair do, I recognize him from the XIII-2 trailers and promos that play at work all the time, so now I know he makes it

Then Enter Snow!

hes talking to some kid, who I'm sure is probably gonna die

and now I'm controlling him

so Hope and Vanille decide to cause some mischief and go up to La cell or whatever

and then I use hope for one battle

then I go back to Lightning and Palmer, where Lightning apologizes to a door to make it open
