Late to the party and on leave from my stay in Oklahoma's Fort Sill, I'm ready to begin playing this marvelous game my sister got me as a coming home present.
*no spoilers please, assistance/critique on how I'm fairing is cool! I'll be starting post football later tonight/early tomorrow with aspirations to binge through it.
just began, soundtrack is amazing especially over my 5.1 surround sound when the virtual 10.1 is on
my whole room is filled with orgasmic orchestra.
nice few opening cutscenes/neat tiny story, as I expected. Enjoying the motion controls so far for chucking/rolling stuff, going to wing ceremony now but monkeying around in skyloft. Making some money doing sidequests, weee
From: Swifticuffs | #001 How long is it if I try to 100%?
40-55 hours.
Are the SQs fun?
Hit and miss for me. Mainly back n' fourth fetch stuff.
How's the game overall?
Combat is great, dungeons are great, a lot of meaningless fetch stuff that really didn't turned me off to the overall experience. Very solid title, but it's not anywhere near my favorite Zelda title.
game is pretty amazing on the first playthrough, it's kinda hard to replay because there's a massive amount of forced hand holding/slow text. some good side quests and probably the best collection of dungeons in the series I think
we can do that. But I think the guard will only pay BHA (basic housing allowance) if I'm a New Jersey resident. I can check again though. By the time you finish academy I'll be an officer assigned a unit. If my unit is in northern jersey and we can get an apartment using my BHA we'll literally pay 50% less, which will make life baller. Plus any education in northern jerz will be free, and commuting is EZ from NYC.
So def, I'll think about it come summer. First Georgia is calling my name to become lieutenant.
nailing broads in somewhere not my parents place/car would be bangin, yes
definitely hit me up in the summer. Northern jerz costs less, commuting would be better for you too with just a quick train in rather than relying on a drive around jersey
So far the game feels like it has, although there's a bit of a problem with fetch sidequests and control quirkiness, exactly what TP was missing. Items aren't forgotten or solely forced in one dungeon. Sidequesting is relevant, fun and rewarding. The soundtrack is orchestrated, a bonus, and most importantly ISN'T MIDI. The time system is nice, night to day sleeping, not having to wander aimlessly (sans a bit of flying) and a good teleport (travel) system is a terrific feature. The combat is tough and I have lost twice, but it's mostly due to quirky controls, although a heart damage by most enemies is THANKFULLY not TP half a heart baby crap
so yea, this game is on pace to be a 10/10 for me, whereas TP is rightfully so around an 8.5
the controller isn't the problem so much as it is nintendo's inability to institute a free roam camera in this goddamn game
i enjoy enemies doing 1 heart damage but if the input system is complete crap because Z targetting is the only way to adjust the terrible camera then it makes it not so much fun. I do well vs. bosses which are challenging, then die vs. some dumbass bird in the sea desert because i can't see what im doing and the fatal blow won't work because i ztarget the other friggen bird
i really wish I could punch miyamoto in the face, because the only problem this game has is the terrible camera/z target bs
Aside from my minor tiff with the controls, just enjoyed another several hours playing and beat Dungeon 5. Off to workout/hangout with buddies, then probably cruising along some more. Need to 100% this fast, yet in an enjoyable manner, so I can get to Arkham City as well. Although I doubt I got time to platinum that. Ugh this army life ;lol :P
Well Lawton is where I flew out of, but the base is technically "Fort Sill" but yea, Lawton is like 5 mins away.
It ain't so bad really neon. There's nothing more enjoyable than success in life. 3 weeks from calling myself, formally, specialist, and then a couple months from lieutenant.
Holy hell you're military? Why on earth didn't I know this?
We're a field artillery battalion, yes. However, I am 09S and going to Officer School post basic. I have no MOS or BLOC yet, but I plan on, pending my OCS goes well, trying to get locked into signals, communications, intel. So we'll see, but who knows at this point.
LOVE the trials, as opposed to tear hunting/light whatever hunting in TP/PH respectively. I also really like how items/weapons are reused/important, but SQing is nowhere near as fun as it was in MM. Too much fetching in SS. Either way, this is great. Just entered what I believe is probably the dungeon before the last, Fire Sanctuary. The sand ship was amazing!
Nice, you're speeding through. Sandship might be my second favorite dungeon behind Ancient Cistern. I loved the midboss fight (so nice), and the lead-up to the boss with the wrecked ship was really cool.
How are you liking item upgrades?

I'm enjoying upgrades. I actually, sans shields, utilize most upgrades quite often. I don't, however, like the additional bomb/arrow/seed design, but like the wallet/travel pouch design.
so like, this is definitely before Ocarina of Time I'm guessing. Now there's a 4th goddess... hmph. And she enacted this plan to keep the land/triforce hidden from the demon lord, which was created by the goddesses before her, bla bla
didn't nintendo release a timeline or something?
I'll read it when I beat this. I presume I'm close.
I am so bad at killing Skulltulas hanging from the ceiling. I can horizontally slash and expose the weak spot, but every time, I miss the attack to actually hit it.
