I could imagine sense of touch being very difficult to cope without, beyond what we can imagine or picture to compare with losing sight. Even imagine doing simple things like typing and not being to feel pressure or contact. How would you judge what you're pressing without looking at the keys like a first time user?

Don't know about you guys, but my eyes only let me know what's going on in a relatively small portion of me. Without touch, I could lose limbs and not even know it because I was looking the wrong way.

Sight.

Being blind and deaf at the same time is one of the scariest thoughts to me. So all I had to do was choose between sight and hearing. I'm an intensely visual learner so that choice was obvious.

Your body is constantly moving to compensate, rebalance, etc. It responds to pressure, temperature, other contact... etc etc

If you have no sensation (as in people who have the "no pain" disorder), your body will not compensate and it will degrade and be destroyed as you move.

Even paralyzed people have vast degradation to their body over time.

I'm just pretty sure that feel is the worst of the five senses that you could individually lose in realistic "survivability" terms.

Sight. Though touch is a close second. Without touch, you actually wouldn't be able to do a lot of things, like for example, walking. You'd have no way to tell when your foot hits the ground. You'd feel like you were in a constant state of levitation. It'd be really weird.

Actually you totally could. You have way more than five senses, including a sense of self and personal location, which accounts for thing like phantom limb syndrome in amputees and the fact that you can close your eyes and still touch your nose with your finger.

Think about that last one. What sense did you use to find your nose? Obviously you can't see your finger, you didn't smell your finger coming, and touching the air didn't tell you where your nose was. No, it's a new sense. The sense of where your body is at any given time.

There are more than a dozen different senses. Even obvious things like time, hunger, thirst and bodily urges are senses, but no one ever told you that.
