Previous results:
a) There will be no gudge match for Barkley against Frozen Synapse next round, nor will it pull out it secret weapon, the Home Improvement kid. The Old Spalding Song Sucked didn't horribly suck, but the voters were holding their crucifix (and their votes) close to their chest. Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin advances, 12-7.
b) The Answer for how to finally put the upstart YS 7 out of the tournament since it's winning streak dating back to round L1 is apparently more Umineko! -- even if zts's work just barely held on again for a second day. Umineko advances...TO PLAY AGAIN TODAY, 9-8.

------------------------------------------
You're not going to get a more marquee match-up than this one, folks. Scars of Time or DED, to represent the winner, isn't presently slated for anything more awesome than Shadowlord. If there's one match to check out, this is probably going to be the one. After this, we have jumped the shark...if we hadn't already simply by doing a loser's bracket.

Anyway, an apology for a second day in a row: Umineko should not have had to deal with a tiebreaker with YS. It was pointed out to me that I had miscounted, and Umineko actually came out ahead by one. Turns out it wins the tiebreaker anyway, but again it was really close. Give some props to YS for almost winning to Umineko two times.

Hope is one of those songs that has really grown on me.

Undiscovered Waters
Easily.

Thank you for posting, KCF. Later than I'd have hoped, but much earlier than I could have managed myself. And I goofed slightly with the YS/Umineko vote count again, only it doesn't mess anything up this time...it was 10-9, not 9-8. Still favor: Umineko.

Personally siding with Hope.

And in the JFF, having trouble picking. Neither of these songs strike me as champion caliber. Disappointing considering they eliminated two of my own noms last round. I mean, we could have been listening to Mystic Cave Zone! Or...or...Cool Baby!

OK, maybe we're just as well off with what we've got. Still, both songs are respectable, and neither wows me over the other, so I'm going to abstain.

Dreams of the Shore Bordering Another World
Grand blue

First match is one of the best matches in the contest so far, IMO, though not my absolute favorite. Very, very close. Second match is not nearly as good, but not many matches would have a favorable comparison to Dreams of the Shore/Hope.

Dreams of the Shore Bordering Another World
Sora - Grand blue

There are quite a few tracks from Aquaria I'd take over Grand blue - just off the top of my head, Arboreal and Technique - but I've never been a big fan of Undiscovered Waters.

Ooh, that could have had an effect on the outcome, couldn't it? Normally I prefer the upbeat music, but I have just had a horrible day and some relaxing music is just what I need right now. Now, both songs in today's match fit that bill, but dreamenddischarger doesn't, so...okay, no, Shadowlord is so horrible that regardless of who wins here, I wouldn't vote for it. Dreams of the Shore.

And...Grand Blue. Yeah.

Considering he was copy-pasting my writing, I'll bite.

YS 7 has had a remarkable run in the loser's bracket. It's the only game that has hung on since the very first round to forge ahead this deep. Nothing could seem to stop it, and even though it (incorrectly) seemed to tie Umineko, which is in a whole new class of opponent for the game, it was not able to prevail in a rematch.

Dreams of the Shore Bordering Another World
Aquaria - Undiscovered Waters

So sad to see YS 7 not get the upset, but it does not change my vote today. Hope is lovely, but Dreams of the Shore Bordering Another World is, as I've said, one of my favorites. Then we have Undiscovered Waters, which I found pretty, and Grand Blue, which was interesting in other ways. I am leaning for Undiscovered Waters this time, but not by a lot.

Back to having internet unblocked again :D

yeah, I really dunno :/
First match is tough, like reeeallly tough. Weirdly, I could've mistaken Hope for being a CC track if not for the different instruments :/

Undiscovered Waters
Somehow this track vaguely reminds me of CC as well for some reason. I guess this is what I get for listening to the Radical Dreamers soundtrack on repeat for majority of yesterday afternoon >.> Grand blue was okay, but the qualit- aaah crap, I'm using my broken headphones lol. Surprised it took me this long to notice tbqh. Gonna re-listen to all of these in a few mins lol

Super awesum voting part 2!
Dreams of the Shore Bordering Another World sounds way better than it did with the non-broken headphones (basically what happened with the broken ones was that they only put out what with only the left side of the headphones, then centralize so its harder to tell the difference. Kinda like a failed mono output I guess. Generally its easy to pick up, but I'm tired and therefore didn't notice the difference until I found a distinct lack of vocals from the Sora track lol). Painfully long rambling aside, CC sounds better, Umineko... kinda sounds the same tbqh, so CC gets mah vote here.

Undiscovered Waters sounds infinitely better than it did listening to it a little over an hour ago. Yes its a bit repetitive but I still love it nonetheless. Grand blue naturally takes a much needed step up in quality as well, and those vocals really are damn awesome (for some the reason the cheesy, repetitive lyrics are a big turn-on point for me - probably because they remind me of Absolution Comes in Dreams, which is easily one of my favourite ReMixes period), but it took nearly a minute for said vocals to kick in, so...
