Rules: - Rate from 0 to 10 (one decimal place is fine, more than that and I'll round for you). I'd prefer if 5 were an average rather than 7. - You may vote for any games you want that have been rated before at any time. You may also change your vote at any time. - No alts, no joke voting, no purposeful downvoting - you all know this. - Please only vote if you've played enough of the game to be able to rate it. - You may nominate as many games as you want on any given day. Multiple noms of the same game aren't necessary. Spreadsheet with prior games/ratings: https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?hl=en&hl=en&key=0Ap-Cxjhwem1PdFR5Wk1NUkhDX3NmM3NIU1hVaFFZY2c&output=html

I don't know if I should count ertyu's vote because I don't know whether this a Kirby game that he has played and hates or just hates because it is Kirby

For its time, it was a cute, very playable game with a really nice concept and some pretty good music, but even when it was brand new and I was only six years old I found it deeply lacking in length and depth compared to the likes of Mario and Mega Man. It's fairly reasonable for a normal person to beat the game in about 20 minutes without even doing anything weird. Kirby's Dream Land 2 and Kirby's Adventure came out quickly to resolve the length and depth problems, fortunately, but Dream Land is really just a brief intro to Kirby as far as I'm concerned.
Oh, one other thing I do like about it though is that it's the only Kirby game that's actually dedicated to the sucking up and spitting out mechanic. Let's face it, once copy powers became a thing in the very next Kirby game, the sucking up and spitting out thing takes a major backseat. Kirby's Epic Yarn was the first game to actually return to that idea (and improve on it) and I appreciated that a lot.
Too short and frankly unspectacular. I do echo Para's thoughts on the sucking up vs. copy powers bit though. It's certainly interesting to see a suck-only game... but I wouldn't want to see it again (KEY not withstanding).
