Welcome to another round of the Best OST Contest, where we decide the best game soundtrack by voting on the songs in it.
Condensed rules and guidelines: * You must listen to both songs in the match. Use the provided links. * You must vote on the songs in the match. Not the game's overall music. Not how much you like the game itself. ***VOTE ON THE SONGS*** * To help enforce rule 2, All votes must be given for the song title, not the game or the seed number. No exceptions. * Normal contest rules apply about alts, rallying, multi-voting, etc. * No mid-thread tallies, please. * Matches run 24 hours from when they start.
Previous results: a. The Girl Who Stole the Stars showed no signs of vulnerability, as CC marches one step closer to its big three. Chrono Cross advances, 20-7. b. You guys are such teases. After voting against my own nom, it was still leading the whole day until Neon Mines went on an 8-1 run to go from down 4 to up 3 over Eternal Recurrence. Shatter advances, 16-13.
Two other notes: 1) My computer does not show bold on default fonts, such as those on GameFaqs. It's really annoying. (Stupid Windows 7.) That means that writing a block of text and hiding your pick in the middle with [b] tags is not going to give me any indication who you're voting for. Please make it clear through other means. 2) I'm going to list the links a little differently today. Tell me if you like or dislike. This is a link to a playlist of upcoming songs. The first four are today's matches.
I listened to both songs in the second match three times, and I honestly can't pick anything I like enough to vote for them or hate enough to vote against them. They're both like 4/10 for me.
huh, guess I'm not going to bother bolding my votes anymore. I think this is the first time I've voted against touhou in this contest, NieR has the best soundtrack of any game I haven't played I have to say, needs to come to PC!
both songs are a little meh but mechanism does more for me, more variety and though it takes a while to get going it does continually evolve where unatco really doesn't. starts getting much more interesting when the vocals start detuning, I think neotokyo probably has the best cyberpunk soundtrack I've heard in a game
Emil/Karma Mechanism (... odd choice here, but Deus Ex's a one-trick pony, so...)
And I massively prefer individual links.

Oh, a big machine with flashy lights. A big machine like that has me written all over it. Well, okay, it doesn't. But give me time... and a crayon --11th Doctor
I can't think of picking either Emil or Tabula Rasa for the first one... I loved both songs... Emil had me slightly biased over the singing though... but without it it wouldn't have been as awesome... I can't pick between those two...
As for the new link thing, I like it... but I prefer linking to each song individually...
ok, I'll stick to individual links moving forward. I thought some might appreciate the playlist since it would auto-advance for them and they'd have a chance to preview tomorrow's matches if they cared to.
Whoa. You'd think I'd be less surprisingly impressed by something that I nominated, but somehow that's not the case. Tabula Rasa ~ The Empty Girl it is.
UNATCO gets the nod, I think. Both are good, but something about Mechanism just annoys me.
And yeah, this format is good. I like what you've done.

Both are close matches, but I think I like the first one more. I like pretty much every song from Neotokyo, but Mechanism is probably on the lower end of them. It's still enough for me to vote for it, but it was closer than it had to be!

As much as I like Touhou, and Tabula Rasa ~ The Empty Girl, Emil/Karma is definitely superior to me. Really lovely vocals in the latter, and that is enough to win me over. UNATCO was average at best, while Mechanism had some interesting parts. Neither is that high on my list, but Mechanism definitely beats out UNATCO.

You laugh at my Celtic Guardian, until I use my Scapegoat, and then United We Stand, Mage Power, and 3 Axe Of Despairs, with Gaia Power out. 11900/7800
