Welcome to another round of the Best OST Contest, where we decide the best game soundtrack by voting on the songs in it.

No exceptions. * Normal contest rules apply about alts, rallying, multi-voting, etc. * No mid-thread tallies, please. * Matches run 24 hours from when they start.
Previous results: a. Tiebreaker #1 wasn't even close, with Final Opportunity destroying Elise Deauxnim. Skies of Arcadia advances 26-7 (43-20 overall). b. Tiebreaker #2 was closer, but still decidedly in favor of End Credits over Rainbow Road. Perfect Dark advances 20-13 (37-30 overall). c. Our last match was tied for 6 hours when I went to bed, but was decided by the morning vote. Two votes for Ryoshima Plains later, I assumed it was over, until the remaining three all went in favor of Theme of the Last Time Travel. In what has probably been the tightest, most back and forth match yet (that wasn't a tie,) Professor Layton and the Unwound Future advances, 17-16.

Bayou Boogie - definitely not one of the better DKC2 songs, but still okay For the Savior - i like fishy aroma but this is a personal fave of mine from Lufia 2
First match is pretty close... the second match might be even closer, which is a bit puzzling, because with a better choice here Umineko would destroy this match IMO. Not that I dislike Fishy Aroma or anything, it's just... that strikes me as a pretty odd choice given what else could have been chosen. Yeah, I know, I think this list was intentionally chosen to avoid some of those songs, but still.
I'm surprised we haven't had any hymmns yet, though.
That is intentional. SPHILIA seems to be the only hymn the board thinks positively of (out of the ones I think have shown up in a VGMC), or at least that has always been my impression. Consequently, SPHILIA is the only hymn here, and it's the 5th song, so it's still a bit off, if it even gets a chance to play. If AT2's list had just been a list of my favorites, HARMONIUS_FUSION and IMPLANTER would have been here at the least, but I wasn't about to doom AT2 in this contest for that.

pretty meh first match, bayou boogie is alright but I don't think either of these songs are amongst the best of their respective soundtracks. more respect for DKC2 overall but on this head to head AT2 wins it. lots of interesting sounds in this too, love the enharmonic bells here
more of a vote against fishy aroma than for TOWWSTE, I don't think of myself as having an anti-vocal bias but this is certainly an example of what harm a bad vocalist can do to a song, the actual melody is alright
If DKC2 loses this contest it will be because of this song. There were so much better candidates here. I like it enough to vote for it but I won't be shocked if it loses.

I'm not terribly fond of Replekia, probably because it usually overrides better songs. But Harmonious_Fusion and the full EXEC_over.METHOD_SUBLIMATION suite are my AT2 goals for next VGMC, and hopefully the board'll like those two. And hopefully Ed'll let me count all of Sublimation as a single song (if not, probably just omness chs ciel sos infel).

I... don't think SUBLIMATION would do too well. Certainly not if all 3 were put together. Personally I prefer lamenza > omness chs ciel sos infel > ee wassa sos yehar.
...Not sure what the board in general would think in regards to how they'd like each of the three (though if you made me guess I think it'd be lamenza or omness chs ciel sos infel), but I wouldn't have high hopes for any of them. My AT2 goals are mostly just hoping SPHILIA can at least retire. HARMONIUS_FUSION would be nice though. ...On the AT1 front, still want to get RE=NATION in. It was one nom short for VGMC5. =(

Well, I'm not sure there's a hymn I don't like. At least out of AT1 and AT2, haven't played AT3 and have only heard 2 of them I think. So in a broad sense, a lot of it is just ordering things I already like. I could clearly define tiers of the hymns though in terms of personal preference.

Bayou Boogie is all right, while God's Footprints is really neat, so easy choice for me there. I find it intriguing how God's Footprints seem to have, um, a sort of "halting" in the melody, yet still manages to sound good. As for the other two, The Ones Who Will Save the Earth was generic at best, and Fishy Aroma is... well, it has one of the worst music piece names ever, but it's also weird in how it sounds. The former manages to win for me, but I'm not terribly fond of anything today besides God's Footprints.
