I'm very wary of Gundam adaption games. Or Gundam games set mainly in space. They usually have crappy combat.

Well I'm sure if they did something like Journey to Jaburo it would be fine. But very rarely do devs get the space combat just right. And trust me, Unicorn doesn't have many land battles. Maybe I'm just a little hard on controls like the water world and final battle in KH >_>

The game looks gorgeous, but then again so does the anime! And while we're on that, we are gonna get a new episode in a few days. HYPE

Yeah, but the subbed ep's come out at the same time as the raws.

With Unicorn, the ep is released and it takes a while for the subbed version to come out. I can watch it, but I can't understand it. It's almost like buying a game but not being able to play it.

What is up with the Double Zeta itself? It basically features the Core Fighter Docking capabilities of the RX-78, but with the transformation capabilities of the Zeta. Kind of cool

Roux is awesome. So is Elle.

Gotton is probably my favorite character though. He can't catch a break regarding COs. Poor guy

Don't worry about Unicorn sub speed. It's incredibly hyped which means there are groups out there that will do it in hours. For comparison, AGE comes out pretty slow compared to when 00 was airing!

I like ZZ well enough, the last part of it anyway.

I've decided here is my order

I'm gonna finish off UC Gundam. So... ZZ > Char's Counter Attack. I'm gonna then go back and watch the OAVs. 0080 > 8th MS team > 0083. Then I'm gonna watch Unicorn because apparently its amazing. Then I'm gonna watch Late UC. F91 followed by Victory

After that, its time to move on to Alternate Century stuff. I'll be starting with Gundam Wing, then watching Gundam X. Then I'm gonna watch 00. After that, I'll check out Igloo. And then I'm gonna finish up with Turn A

Jesus christ. Episode 27 and 28 of ZZ rocked my face off. Great two parter.

Leina's freakout at the Zeon party was amazing. I also liked the part where Haman freaked out. The pressure that Judau emitted when he was pissed must have been incredible.

They're really starting to set up Glemy as a serious villain aren't they?

Good to see Karaba again! Hayato is a pretty cool guy. Shame Amuro didn't show up too, I guess he's busy fooling around with Beltorchika or something.

Just finished the show. Final battle was pretty darn great.

Poor Glemy got cheapshotted by Roux :(. Wasn't really expecting that.

Chara went out like a beast. Damn Puru clones :(

Great show over all. I some complaints, but not about the tone. I actually liked the humor of the first half >_>. My problem is that it was just unfocused, and after a while dragged on. Around the time they went to earth, that show became amazing though. Great cast, Judau was a pretty cool protagonist, and all of his friends were pretty awesome. But damn Roux, you were hard core taking Glemy out like that :( He was out of the cockpit even.

0079 > Zeta > ZZ > G.

I don't know if anything WILL knock off 0079, to be honest. I loved how desperate the show was. A bunch of kids banding together to flee. And once the tone shifts, Amuro becomes a beast with the Gundam. He's such a powerful newtype that the Gundam is literally too slow for him. And then you have Char, who is just fascinating. I know they're both in Z, but they're relegated to side characters.

The Zeon were the best villain faction as well. Competent and sympathetic. In fact, I think that is a big chunk of why I like it so much is the scale. Literally about a war that wiped out half of humanity. Compared to that, the Gryps conflict and Axis Zeon felt like a step down.

Also, the music was amazing. Awesome 70s disco. The other shows had great soundtracks as well, but I absolutely adore 0079

Episode 7:

Started off pretty slow. I'm a little confused as to who the Euba and Zalam or whatever really are. Do they even exist still formally? What is their relationship to the Earth Federation?

The arms dealer dude I guess works for the Not-Zeon and I guess he likes how well it performs against his Not-Zakus.

Looks like "OCCUPY FARDAIN" actually happened! A bunch of little kids are the 99%

Random UE attack that apparently wiped out 90% of the Euba and Zalam forces that quick. Pretty impressive. Not sure I care for the new design of the AGE to be honest. It was pretty neat watching that dude almost get SHINING FINGERED though

Just watched Char's Counterattack.

Jeez that movie was hardcore. Non-stop fighting between Neo Zeon and Londo Bell.

First things first: Char. I don't think his ideology was too different. He's always been one for having earth complete its migration into space, and his speech in Dakar from Zeta had much of the same rhetoric he would spout here. But I don't buy that he was still as upset about Amuro killing Lalah. That seemed to contradict their encounter with each other in Zeta. Char to Quattro seemed like a pretty natural jump. But there seemed like there was a piece here. Like we didn't see some event that transitioned Char's personality. The only thing I can think of is that Char in Zeta was planning on doing stuff like this the entire time and his actions in Zeta were an act. I wouldn't put it past him: He is shown in this movie to be pretty manipulative and uncaring about people, only seeing them as tools. Regardless of some murky character development, Char was still pretty beast in this.

Kamille. Where was he in all of this. Him and Char had a pretty friendly relationship. Why wasn't he here? He seemed to be pretty fully recovered at the end of Double Zeta, so why not try to reach out to his former comrade and mentor? For that matter, I honestly think this movie suffered from the lack of Sayla. She was mentioned briefly as "If only my sister Artesia hadn't been there, than Lalah Sune wouldn't have died" type thing, but really, this movie was a Char movie and you'd think his little sister would be interested in the fact he was leading in an army.

Quess: She was annoying. She got what she deserved. Nanai should have smacked the crap out of her even more. Hathaway...damn I'm pretty disappointed with him. He had sort of a Katz vibe going on. But he didn't need to go and kill Chan :(. She was just trying to protect him.

And speaking of deaths, Astonage NOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo. Poor Astonage :( He didn't have to die :(

Amuro was pretty cool here too. You don't really get to see him pontificate too much, but his monologue about intellectuals and revolutions was fantastic.. And normally I don't really care for the Gundam designs (I much prefer the grunt suits), but that Nu Gundam was pretty spiffy. Fin Funnels are bad ass.

In the end, it seems Amuro is the better pilot than Char. Char just couldn't keep up with Amuro and was taken out pretty decisively. It's pretty poetic that they both died arguing with each other. In the end they could never reconcile their differences.

One pleasant surprise was that Cameron had such a large role in the movie. I didn't expect I'd see him ever again >_>

Overall this was a pretty great movie. The ending scene with Amuro pushing back Axis was pretty damn well written and executed, and the part when the psycho-frame finally couldn't handle anymore and overloaded is probably one of the most beautifully directed scenes I've ever seen in a movie. Definitely iconic. I guess its only fair that Amuro vs Char ended with them both dieing.

PS: Thank god there was no Beltorchika >_>
