Good stuff. G had an amazing last stretch as well. I loved the explosive action and emotion that went on during those last 2 episodes. Not to mention all the Gundam cameos.

AGE 12 was good, a buildup episode. I was way off mark when I said Yurin was working with Desil. But damn her origin really threw me off, and it sucks that her foster dad isn't doing anything to help. The AGE Newtypes are also awaken through combat huh? I don't know what to think right now, but I liked it better when Fritto was just an ordinary guy. Kinda cheap to give him powers, but hey he probably needs it to compete against the UE, and it is very nice seeing him going godmode on fodder.
SEED 1 HD was ok. There were a few spots where I thought the upscaling or whatever they did was really bad. Especially the part where Mu La Flaga was introduced and he was talking to that captain. It's blurry and hurts my eyes. I'm glad they at least put in more effort for the last part of the episode when Kira and Athrun meet on the Strike. It's kind of hard watching this show when we have stuff like Unicorn/00/AGE with their super smooth HD goodness.
I'm hearing some depressing things about fukubukuro and Gundam AGE. Stuff like all AGE model kits being discounted to 200 yen because they're not selling AT ALL

They aimed the show at the wrong audience. Little kids aren't going to go out and buy these kits. Not to mention they pissed off their entire fanbase with the character designs >_>
Only way to save the show is AGE-2 and AGE-3 having 00 level suit designs. And make more characters that look like Woolf... but don't tease the catears >_>

A few years ago, my parents were at an asian bookstore and bought some DVDs for like $1. Two were related to Gundam. One contained a few episodes of Z Gundam. Then there is this:
http://imgur.com/gpCwh I'm not entirely sure its legitimate, whatever it is. It seems to be some sort of compilation thing. The first part features a CGI RX-78 and CGI Amuro fighting some Zakus and Doms. It's kind of bad ass actually.
Then it switches over to a summery of the original 0079. Interestingly enough, it doesn't use footage from the show, I don't think. The animation looks new. The subtitles are terrible though: You guys just gotta see this crap to believe it:

There are two more options on the title menu. The second option basically is a unique story (I think) about an MS team that serves on a Pegasus Class ship. They use weirdly colored GMs and are fighting at A Baoa Qu. It's kind of neat, and art style wise, looks a lot like 0083.
Then there is the third option, called "Ace Pilot Mode". It starts off by showing the the fight between Kou and Kelley on the moon in 0083, then it awkwardly switches to a weird scene between I think Johnny Ridden and Krycillia. She wants him to test out some Gelgoogs.
I've been asking around and general consensus is that this is a some Chinese pirates ripped the cutscenes from a PS2 game called "Encounters in Space" and put it on this DVD. I'm gonna rip it for you guys.

Btw you should read Crossbone Skullheart. I have a feeling you will love it. I'm thinking I'll finish up Skullheart and the other Crossbone sidestory then move on to the Wing sidestories.

Today, I picked up a book from my school library called "The High Frontier: Human Colonies in Space", which is the book that inspired the UC space colonies. I'm only like 4 chapters, but it is pretty fascinating. It's fun seeing what ended up being right (particularly in regards to population projections and economic concerns), and what has been wrong (O'Neill projected that its possible to have a colony up by the mid 1990s). That said, he pretty much said that there was a myriad of political and economic issues that would delay it.

Yeah, I think it was a bit optimistic. Apparently newer editions of the book include analyses of why we're moving away from building colonies because our space program is getting crapped on.

As I've mentioned before, I saw this about 12 years ago. I remembered the characters and MSes, but pretty much forgot the plot.
It's a pretty good show, but my biggest complaint was the Sanc Kingdom arc (Episodes 29-37). It was like the writers were trying to have a bet how many times they could sneak in the phrase TOTAL PACIFISM into each episode. In general, the franchise has done a good job of being anti-war without saying how anti-war it was. The other shows are a "show, not tell" type affair, and at times Wing gets to be frustrating shoving down the "war is bad" message. At least during that arc. I suppose the final battle is like that two, where you have two guys (Treize and Zechs) who are fighting each other just to show the world how horrific war is, but it isn't so hamfisted as it is during the Sanc Kingdom stuff. But before that and after that, this show is pretty balls to the wall hardcore.
One thing I thought was kind odd is that Treize and Zech's plan was to create a war so horrific that no one would ever want to fight again, but according Treize, only about 10k people died during the course of the show, with only about 200 people dieing during the final battle. Pretty low numbers for a war that was supposed to be so catastrophic it'd change the human condition. That said, the final battle was pretty awesome, and might be a contender for favorite final battle in the show.
The Gundams aren't as indestructible as I remember them. They're pretty much getting repaired after every episode during the final 8 or so episodes. And before that, there is a pretty big stretch of the show where each Gundam is essentially destroyed. So yeah, not really indestructible. That each Gundam was capable of destroying entire battalions of MSes without breaking a sweat. I'm pretty sure the human kill count was pretty low (since they spent most of the show fighting Mobile Dolls), but in terms of MS destroyed, I'd say the Wing cast easily has an exponentially higher MS kill count than any other pilot from other shows combined.
In terms of pilots
Heero > Quatre > Trowa > Duo > > > Wu Fei
I didn't want to like Heero at first. He's too stoic and at the beginning of Wing implied to be psychotic. But as the show goes on, it's pretty obvious he's actually a pretty kind dude, even if he occasionally threatens to kill his love interest from time to time
Quatre. Back in the day, I used to hate him. Maybe it was his English voice actor or something, but I dunno. Something about him was off putting. But he's actually a pretty likeable guy and the brains of the group. I think people kind of overplay his attraction to Trowa. At first he wanted to hang out with Trowa just because he was the only Gundam pilot Quatre knew of. Later on, he wanted to find Trowa because of the guilt he felt.
Trowa. For a while he was my favorite. The part where him and Heero were together was great, as was the part where he was undercover as a OZ soldier. But then he disappeared for a while and during that time Heero and Quatre grew on me.
Duo: As a kid, I liked him the best because of how outlandish he was, but really he doesn't get to do TOO many important things. Still, he's aight
Wu Fei: I don't care for him at all. He's a pretty big tool. Plus he killed Treize, who was pretty much the best character on the show.
So yeah, other than the Sanc Kingdom stuff, it was a pretty solid show. I'm not done with AC yet though! Next up is the Endless Waltz OVA!

It's a pretty damn good soundtrack! Two of my favorite OPs so far. BGMs are pretty great too. I'm especially fond of the song that plays during the recap section of each episode:

It was pretty good, though i think it could have been a bit longer. Some of the time scale things were kind of wonky. For example, Quatre said something like "It'd take 5 days to catch up with the Gundam carrier", but then catches up to it that night or something weird.
Dekim and Mariemaia reminded me of Haman and Mineva, though Dekim wasn't nearly as much of a babe as Haman was.
Seriously:
Dekim was pretty good as the villain, and his final scenes were great.
The flashbacks were pretty interesting, though I dunno. I can't help but feel they should have been in the main series. That said, they were appreciated none-the-less.
It's amazing how much better quality the animation was. I mean, I know it's silly to compare an OVA to a TV series, especially since the OVA is two more years recent. But there are some moments I'd genuinely consider to be mecha porn.
The redesigns were pretty good, I thought. Sandrock with a Cloak, althought it was brief, was pretty cool. Not sure why they recolored Heavyarms green though, even in the flashbacks. Are we to infer that it was always supposed to be green? Not that big a deal though.
I was hoping they'd go a different rout with Wu Fei. Play up the remorse he felt for killing pretty much the coolest person in the original show, but they took it somewhat differently.
Trowa was pretty awesome, and Duo got some shining moments and was a bro.
I'm so glad they fixed Relena finally. Her moment when she was like "oh yeah, my ideas on pacifism are pretty wrong" was nice.
Would have liked to have seen more Zechs. It seems in EW, he's entered the "Quatro" phase of being a Char clone, which worked. His character development was something like OYW Char > CCA Char > Z Cha...I mean Quatro, and I think it worked pretty well. Still he felt under utilized.
In terms of rankings, I think I'll just stick this with the rest of GW, since it's pretty similar in tone and was really just the finale of that anyway.
Next up: Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop...
I mean, After Wars Gundam X.
