I pissed off my friend (the one who wanted me to watch G Gundam).

I said that even though Schwartz Bruder is a Quattro clone, he's still pretty awesome. He then went off on me saying that G Gundam is better than every other Gundam series because its not political and death obsessed like the other series and that the suckiness of Gundam is counterbalanced by the awesomeness of the DBZ-esque stuff.

I don't think I'm gonna get him to watch some of the other shows guys :( The only ones he's watched were Wing and Seed

Just finished watching the Zeta movies.

Woolf... He seems interesting. Is he the Char clone of the series? I ask because he has some of the traits. A nickname relating to a color "The White Wolf" plus custom mobile suits

I like Millias >_> She's not Sayla or Sarah, but she's kind of cute.

I think the story has finally taken off. One thing I don't like is Emily. She ate up a lot of screen time and a lot of the time they cut to her during important parts.

Just finished G Gundam: Honestly, it was a pretty silly show with some flaws, but i still liked it. It was kind of like the antithesis of a Gundam show, about overcoming nationalism to push for globalization, while the shows I've watched have been about the failures of Globalization.

Overall solid cast. Domon was a cool protagonist, Asia was an awesome villain. I also rather liked Wong Yufat. Ulube was whatever though.
I thought Rain was boring, which is bad because her relationship with Domon was so key to the story.

The TRUE LOVE CONQUERS ALL ending was a bit corny, to be honest. But their final attack was pretty neat..

Schwartz was a pretty cool dude >_>. Allenby was alright. She was like a slightly more stable Four that didn't die. In fact, the mortality rate was pretty low in genera.

I also liked the Hong Kong family that Domon lived with. The little kids were the coolest little kids in a Gundam series yet.

The music had some stand outs too. The first OP was fanfreakingfistpumpingawesometastic and there were quite a few good BGMs as well:




I loved how the guy firing the statue of liberty cannon was in the likeness of a certain General Douglas MacArthur, AKA the head of SCAP (the office of the occupational forces after WW2)

The mecha were pretty lame to be honest. The Shuffle Alliance's mechs were not bad, and so was Master Asia's mechas, but every other country's were pretty silly.

There were some REALLY neat things I liked about the show. The final section after the ending of the Gundam fight with them in outter space was pretty awesome. But sometimes a few of the arcs dragged on. Plus it was a little formulaic to be frank. The flow of the show could be said to be this in terms of fights:

Yea the only fault I find with the series is pretty much all the filler episodes. I didn't take it too seriously, and the show didn't either. Agreed with the OP, that thing is godly. I didn't care for Rain that much, to be honest the show didn't focus on their relationships enough for me to care at the end. I felt bad for Allenby even though she didn't die :(

And TOHOFUHAI MASTER ASIA THE BEST. He steps out of his mobile fighter and beats you with a piece of CLOTH.

Also I got the SD Gundam online game, and I tried playing it but I ran into something weird. I was in a battle trying to beat this computer enemy, and I kept hitting him but he never died no matter how long I kept. Is there something I need to do to finish enemies off?

It's not as noticeable though, because they're always fighting someone new. They're essentially fighting the same people over and over in G Gundam. In 0079, they're usually fighting someone new, and there is usually a sense of dread since the enemy was out for blood. Pretty much all the fights in G Gundam were friendly, which did take out some gravity, to be honest.

That said, its not too big a deal though, since its countered by the over-the-top goodness that show is known for. Like the time Domon burst out of the Statue of Liberty (nice touch that later on the show, NeoAmerica is seen rebuilding its statue) or the time he flew into outer space to use the ring that goes around the planet to get to NeoHong Kong in like 2 minutes

Just watched the first episode of ZZ. It was kind of weird. I hestiate to even call it an episode. It felt more like a PV.

I'm gonna agree with you on that. Episode 2 was an actual episode and it was pretty good. Judau seems not bad.

Was surprised that Yazan lived, to be honest. But then I went back and checked and sure enough, his pod ejected before his Hambrabi exploded.

Can't wait to see more of Beecha. He seems pretty cool.

Just finished episode 3. Apparently this show is hated because its too lighthearted... I dunno, it's certainly sillier than say Zeta, but it still has gravity. People still die.

Noticed that one edenite tarraist guy looked like Mr. Bushido. That was kinda cool.

What could be is that the eden group, who's searched out all these newtype kids, controls the UE to facilitate the evolution of the Gundam and the AGE system for the unannounced real threat 100 years in the future.

Or maybe they're the big bad and this is all part of their gambit. Either way, I'm looking forward to more episodes.

Pretty crazy stuff. Woolf was pretty awesome this episode, for the brief time he was on it. His friendship with Frito is pretty cool and I can't wait to see how it plays out.

Desil... A lot like Yurin. Do you guys think this EDEN group are really the UE, and what is their purposes. We now know who the red haired kid, doesn't seem like he is another Flit love interest though.

Grodek: I can't get a read on this guy. At first I thought he was gonna be a Bright Noa-type character, but now... I mean I guess it's cool he hijacked the Diva to save everyone on Nora, but his plan to attack the UE at their fortress is insane. It was pretty neat how he handled that Inspector though

8 episodes into ZZ and I'm kind of liking it. Is it more humorous than pretty much every Gundam series? Yes. But the battles at least are played straight with real consequences (read: death) I rather like Mashymre's second in command, Gotton.

Judau so far is pretty cool. He's definitely likeable, though I hestitate to say he's as good as Kamille and Amuro (though that's not exactly fair, since they were pretty strong protagonists)

I think he's a little insane, maybe driven by revenge? I don't think the Diva has enough pilots to launch a direct assault at the UE stronghold.
