Phoenix got a 3 last year, and a lot of the big series are going to be splitting nominations.

Round 1 divison 1 picks:
1, 8, 5, 4*, 6, 3*, 7, 2 -- but give some props to Ramza/Delita and Arthas/Illidan. I think they may surprise you.

Round 1 division 2 picks:
1, 8*, 5, 4, 6*, 3, 10, 2 -- I haven't played ME, so I don't respect the rivalry there. I think Kratos needs some respect as well, and I think the 9 seed is a better rivalry than the 8, but suspect the 8 would win in popularity.

Round 1 division 3 picks:
1**, 9, 5, 4, push, 3, 7, 15 -- not that I don't respect Sonic/Knuckles so much as that I do respect Raziel/Kain (and I haven't even played the games!) Also, boo on Mario/Bowser and Sonic/Knuckles rather than Sonic/Knuckles. I think your 16 seed is underseeded here also, as I think Meatboy/Fetus is a little stronger than some of your other underdogs.

Round 1 division 4 picks:
1, push, 5?, 4, who's Vamp?, 3, 7, 2 but with props to Little Mac. Personally, I'd like Mac/Tyson rather than Mac/Sandman...or Mac/Hippo or Mac/Bald Bull or Mac/Piston Honda. Sandman's a hometown boy, but I don't think of him as the ultimate rival for Little Mac.

Other comments:
Link/Dorf is an obvious 1. I dunno about Sora/Riku at 2, but a round 1 favorite of course. Not a MGS fan, so no comment on Liquid vs Solid. Ryu/Ken has to be an early favorite, maybe even a 1, but I'm happy with 2. I'd put Frog/Magus ahead of Tidus/Jecht, as I think of their relationship as a far stronger rivalry, and people have mixed reactions to FFX whereas I never hear anyone badmouth CT. Lightning/Barthandelus, IMHO, is a terrible "rivalry." If anything, I'd rather see Lightning/Snow as a friendly rivalry, as she hates his guts throughout most of the game. I'm not sold on Crono/Lavos as a rivalry, so much as just a main character vs the end boss...except that the first time I beat Lavos, I didn't even have Crono!
