Thinking about buying a noir movie (film, neo, foreign don't really care), not sure which I want to get, what are people opinions?

I own Brick, Les Diaboliques and Strangers on a Train are my favorites that I don't own.

Was thinking about Ace in the Hole, haven't seen it and heard good things

The Hunger Games: 9/10
Great adaptation of the book, but I actually felt a lot of the music was weak. Lacked some of that epic feel I wanted.
Got a little slow in some parts, but all in all, nearly perfect adaptation of the book. Even an improvement in some small ways.

Bridesmaids: 8/10
Really funny over all, but I could have done without the "fall in love" subplot for the main character.

L.A. Confidential - 9.5

One of the best interwoven stories that I have witnessed from any media.

The casting, and by extension performances, was so incredible that I am absolutely shocked that Spacey, Crowe, Cromwell, or Pierce (especially him) did not receive an Oscar nomination.

I am generally not a fan of movies where a romantic relationship is the main premise of the story, but the concept that surrounded it was an engaging one.

I'm not sure that Kate Winslet was the best choice for Clementine, but it may just be the writer's fault. Jim Carrey, on the other hand, happened to be excellent as Joel.

I'm not sure if it's because I read the entire book last night and was able to recognize every single change but I didn't think it was that great of an adaptation. It also felt a bit rushed.

In Time: 6.8/10

They used the concept much better than I thought they would, but virtually all of the characters were so freaking boring... it was like the actors were running on autopilot or something! Definitely don't regret passing this up while it was in cinemas.

Vantage Point - 9.6/10

If there's a terribly underrated movie, is this one. This is, without a doubt, one of the best thriller/suspense/action movies I've ever seen. It's really intricate, yet it manages to keep an extraordinary detail organization than you have to watch the movie even twice to fully get all of the details. The concept of having different points of view for everyone in a movie involving so much disaster and chaos is very innovative, and the way it is executed is simply astonishing.

Also, kudos to Dennis Quaid for his interpretation of one of the most badass secret/security agents in history.

I enjoyed Vantage Point, but I think that I gave it at least a point and a half less than you. I think the movie stumbled in the middle.
