Under $300, have a controller situation for players 2-4 that makes sense, a new Mario, Zelda, or Smash Bros game.

Price point within my range and a game or two to look forward to. That's pretty much it.

Games and both local and online multiplayer.

- Competitively priced HD console (launching at $300 would be good)
- Online community that's finally a community, with user names, easy chatting, and no friend codes
- A Wii-U-from-the-ground-up heavy hitter game (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc)
- More power than the current HD console, but architecture similar enough to allow easy third-party ports
- DLC GameCube games WITH integrated quality online play (Melee Online basically)
- Ability to easily transport my current Virtual Console games (how are they gonna do this?)

That would make me pretty interested.

Well, this one is already pretty much confirmed. Vigil Games(dudes behind Darksiders) have said that it's pretty much runs the same at the highest level as the PC version, and also stated it's easier to program for than the PS3.

Find the specs of the other companies' next gen consoles, leak them, and prove to me beyond a doubt that every good multiplatform title out there will come out for Wii U. Oh, and have reasonable online experience to be had.

The N64 had Super Mario 64. The GC had SSBM and Pikmin within a month or two of release. What happened to good launches?

What does Nintendo have to do to make Wii U a possible launch purchase for YOU?

List what you'd like. Price, launch library, online support, etc

Launch library is pretty much not a factor for me, because I don't think there's ever been a system with a good launch library. They all seem to have a bad launch library and it takes some time for a recently released system to have a good library of games.

Xbox 360, PS3, and DS all had less than 10% ownership on the launch date. 3DS just barely had over 10% ownership (10.03% to be exact) on the launch date. I was surprised when I looked up old polls and saw that the Wii had 23.74% ownership on the day it was released. I guess having a Zelda game as one of the launch titles will make any Nintendo system sell like hot cakes.

You want a good way for the Wii U to be a huge seller? Just put a Zelda game as one of the launch titles and that will do it. I think the Wii U will sell a lot better if Skyward Sword was a Wii U game instead of a Wii game.
