there's a lot of 8 and 16 bit era games where easy and below can be useful

maybe I'm unique in this but my first time through Rocket Knight Adventures had to be done on Children's mode and I gradually worked my way up.

Provides a fuller spectrum. 5 difficulty levels is better than 3.

And I like playing mgs2 or 3 on very easy sometimes just to clown around

I hate when Very Easy modes are required for unlockables, I think it's like that for some of the later DDRs (Inb4 lol later DDRs)

Ehh I start on the hardest, then if I feel like doing another playthrough I put it on easy, so I can mess around and stuff.

I can think of two games: Rocket Knight Adventures, but I believe the modes were F'd in name. Children was supposed to be easy, easy normal, normal hard, and hard some kind of mania mode because its insane

I also remember some other game who's lowest difficulty was "Monkey"

Casual difficulty was a godsend when replaying ME1 for the sole purpose of remembering what happened in the story and to create a better character for ME2. And yes I know about the stupid comic thing.

I remember Megaman Zero 4 Easy Mode
It was so easy that even a 3 years old can beat it
1.Zero takes half damage from enemies
2.Spikes don't OHKO
3.Can't fall into pits
4.9 Lives always
5.Enemies most of the time drop health
6.Although there are almost no enemies
7.You get 2 Sub Tanks from the start
8.I belive you get fully upgraded life bar as well

why should it mater what modes you play games in anyway as long you beat them good enough

easy modes are often useful for playing with friends who don't play games that much also! If the Contra games didn't have easy modes my friends would get a game over by the midway of the first level and stop playing.

Timesplitters 2 has a pretty steep difficulty curve, it can be worthwhile to start off on easy mode there as well.

I always go middle difficulty if 3 , 3rd difficulty if 4, and harder difficulty if only 2


except for I want to be the guy. Frick that game and its Very Hard difficulty
