I started out thinking the whole yaoi angle of No. 6 was being overblown but somewhere around episode 4 where Sion practically confessed his love I realized the show is full homo. And next episode they will finally reach first base.

Usagi Drop: Another nice episode. The tree thing was cool. Rin seems a little too mature for a 6 year old, you know.

Mayo Chiki: Had a few laughs. Not sure how they explain Subaru's boobs. I mean, yeah it's "crossdressing" but you can't crossdress that chest like that. It's a good show, but nowhere near as funny as Yuri Yuri or Baka to test.

The iDOLM@STER: For a show that had a weak start, the last couple of episodes have been really enjoyable. Also Miki is the best character, and she continues to prove it.

Finished Kanon's chapter in G Sen. It was alright until towards the end when they tried to make Ikuko sympathetic and then it got awful. I'm sort of confused since I thought she was just a bad character and terrible person the entire time. If they're going to try to make a character sympathetic, they should give them at least one positive quality.

As for Chapter 3 itself, it was decent. I liked 2 much more since it felt much more tension. Hopefully 4 and 5 are better than 3 at least.

G Sen spoilers



I'm not really sure how I feel about it honestly. My main complaint is there was a lack of suspense/tension throughout the game. It's probably because the stakes were pretty low outside of chapter 5 and I wasn't really into the characters much. Still, I read through it really fast overall and chapter 5 in two days which is really fast for me. Maybe not for real men like Mac Arrowny though.

The cast as a whole wasn't very good. I liked Maou and Haru but that was about it. Maou had a really cool personality and character but I wish he would have done more. The twist of him not actually being Kyosuke was predictable but still pretty cool. Oh, I also found Eiichi to be pretty amusing but he wasn't very relevant to the actual plot. Kyousuke was a little boring, especially when you know he wasn't Maou. He still had some cool moments. Gonzou... I just never got the sense of fear that they were trying to give off from him. Oh well. I'm pretty apathetic on the rest of the characters except Ikuko who was awful.

The epilogue was awesome though. It was one of those things that made me realize that I actually did enjoy the game overall despite its flaws. I wish I hadn't even read the side chapters though. They just shouldn't have existed anyway.

So it was an enjoyable experience but it had some problems. I think I'm going to take an extended hiatus from VNs now and read some god damn manga.

Yeah side character routes kinda just kill the momentum of the main story if you do them right away, cause they're so long and irrelevant to the main story, which is probably a large part of why you didn't think there was much suspense/tension. I personally think the right way to do it is to either read them all in a marathon after chapter 4 (build suspense between 4 and 5 by putting it off, then have the big finish after doing them all-- this is how I did it and I think it works pretty well), read them all well after beating the game, or just skip them entirely.

I'm not saying they were bad-- I even liked Mizuha's quite a bit, but yeah, the story isn't meant to have those large interludes.

Kinda disagree with you on the cast, though. I liked most of the characters. I was pretty meh to Tsubaki, Kanon, and Eiichi but liked most everyone else. Maou and Haru were obviously the two best by a good margin but yeah.

Also I wanna say they were trying to make Gonzou seem like a badass more than scary.

the anime plot is enough of a mess already, the novels are still pretty far from a conclusion even ignoring the author's illness, and even with the sort of cutting things to the bone like previous seasons there's no way they can cram 8+ novels of content into what would probably only be about 12 seasons

no, realistically they'd probably just try to cover the rest of the Gallia arc which is only about 3 more novels and then have an anime only ending leaving quite a bit unresolved or orphaned

there's just way too much for the series to go back and touch on or just put in actual context (like the identities of the void users, the stuff about the contracts, and Tiffania's backstory) before even thinking of doing stuff introduced in the last arc like the true purpose of the Reconqusta, the horrible secret that was uncovered by Wardes' mother, what really happened to the Founder and Gandalfr, the Heart of God, etc.
