I finished reading Slam Dunk earlier.

Really awesome overall with the highlight being the last game. Definitely one of the best shounen "battles" I've ever seen. The ending is pretty lame but any feelings of disappointment are overshadowed by how amazing the last game is. I love stuff where every character gets a cool moment for themselves and each main character got at least several in that. Of course with lots of broments.

Also I saw this on the writer's MAL page

Many of his works are about basketball, Inoue himself being a huge fan of the sport, and many Japanese children started to play basketball because they read the manga. This in turn helped make basketball popular in Japan and across East Asia.

I remember the Slam Dunk OPs being pretty awesome.

I totally remember watching the finals on TV at my aunt's house before my mom told me to go to bed. I never got to finish it :(

That was way back in 95-96. I'm surprised it took until 2000's for it to get to other countries o_o HK usually doesn't get things quickly.

Carnival Phantasm episode 1 had Caster. Not only did ep 2 not have Caster, but it had Ciel. Can't see how this is an improvement.

It is a good show. It's just less good when Ko gets focus or mentioned since he's really the most minor character in the series by now and completely uninteresting. Minko is also pretty terrible most of the time.

I'm not sure how Penguindrum is going to be structured but I hope Ringo is an integral part of the entire show and doesn't fade into some sort background when/if her creepy stalker thing gets resolved. She is also the best and the fabulous would not be at max without her.
