My opinion on TIGAR rose a bit. Still don't like some of the wubbing in this.

GUERRANT-OFENZA-SUPRONT-UNNE (High 8 -> Almost 9) / Deoxyribose (10 -> Steady)

G.O.S.U just can't catch a break with its opponents. It has now went up against three straight High 9+ tracks despite being a phenomenal track in of itself.

i originally did a ranking of all 32 in r4 where I put tigar way above rude buster. but now i'm thinking that that ranking is BOGUS and I definitely clearly prefer rude buster. its one of the r5 matches i'm most considering flipping on though. tigar does way more variety of different types of things i like at once and i respect that. but rude buster does the one thing it does that I like Very well.

match 2 is no contest but I still think deoxyribose is pretty fun. but like very few pieces of music in the world that can beat gosu to me (except this set of retirees is so good that many of them are in this contest and it may face those! (probably not, that would be many rounds away if so, but I can hope!!!!!!))

Early on I think I did not expect to be voting against Rude Buster this contest, both in terms of it getting far enough as well as something else that I happened to like more than it. Or something like that. Though I think I ranked it above TIGAR at the time. Anyway it's a good match

God I could listen to Rude Buster on loop for hours. It's immaculate. The only way it could be better if it were replaced with this:

TIGAR is no slouch either. At this point, very few things are "slouches" for me.

What a climb for Deoxyribose! It started off as a 5.5, barely able to crawl out of a weak four-pack. And here it is now, my favorite song left in the contest. If it goes up against Rude Buster next round, it'll be amazing (though I'll be disappointed it didn't happen in the finals!).

favourite part:
-rude buster: the opening chords. rude buster introduces itself from the get-go as a bouncy jam of a track and I love that energy about it.
-tigar: tough call-- like a lot of all phase mixes, I like the opening buildup (the first minute or so)-- it's neat and moodier than the rest of the track. but the really thick synth chords at 2:39 (and the leadup to them) are great as well. it's just a shorter segment. the section at 5:00 is also very nice, with the synth backing coming in for a sort of triumphal feel. this is the section I feel the most, probably.
-guerrant-ofenza-supront-unne: I've mentioned this before, I think-- it's the progression that starts at 1:26. the way the chords shift under a fairly melodic flute line is exactly the kind of thing I like.
-deoxyribose-- I dunno I really dig the buildup here too. I just like buildups, I guess! (okay a random thought that keeps coming up-- you know that section at 2:33 where the electric guitar basically holds for half a minute? I keep imagining the rap in einhander - shudder filling in that section. it's, like, kind of the same pace and feel!) otherwise, 4:19 feels like the best iteration of that part of the theme, paying off the softer section immediately previous.
