The Boomsday Project is the newest hearthstone expansion. It was released on August 7th, about a week and a half ago so the meta is still very fresh and evolving on a day to day basis.

Many of us play constructed games, and there are some great resources for learning about the best decks to play in these changing times. Here are some generally good links for constructed:

I don't know too much about this one, but it seems to be a pretty data heavy site as well. Sorted by rank 20-11, rank 10-6 or rank 5-legend.

But not everyone prefers constructed, and if you want to make the most out of your Arena runs then consider these good links for Arena:

Both of these are pretty similar, with values attributed to possible arena cards based on how likely it is to be a good card. Additionally you can Hearth Arena (and a Hearth Arena overlay through the program Overwolf) to give you advice while you are drafting that considers the cards you have already to make weighted decisions. Having a good deck can give you a significant leg up on the competition before your first game even starts!

Has a steamer mananged to do a turn 1 UI yet? Requires the coin (or being in wild with counterfeit coin), two preps, academic espionage, and one spell that costs 3 or less that draws a card. Your opponent also has to be Druid and you obviously must draw ultimate infestation with the draw.

Game 9 was against Zoo Warlock.

This guy drew cards and drew cards and drew cards. Fortunately he didn't really PLAY cards for the first couple turns and I was able to thalnos+swipe the worst of his threats before setting up an impossible wall with spreading plague. No togs or waggles necessary since he was actually on pace to beat me to emptying his deck. Record: 9-0

Game 10 was against Odd Paladin.

My first badly drawn game! I got some ramp, but it didn't develop into any card draw, meanwhile he played Sword of Justice and so instead of 1/1s he had a board full of 2/2s. I had 2 turns in a row where a swipe draw would have equalized the game and I could have likely held on, but the swipe draw came one draw too late, and I had used my thalnos + wrath + wrath the previous turn and was unable to find it so I lost. The 12-0 dream is DEAD. Record: 9-1

Game 11 was against Token Druid.

I had a nice mulligan for the druid mirror and felt pretty confident. Turn 2 wild growth into turn 3 wild growth + bloodmage thalnos. I couldn't conceive of a reason that I would need a 2 damage swipe in the druid mirror so I wanted him down that turn to get my cycling started. But then he plays Oaken Summons which brings out... Violet Teacher! That's right, this was TOKEN druid. I clear the teacher with 4 damage wrath + thalnos, but then he quickly sets up a board of wisps + soul of the forest. I really wish I had that 2 damage swipe now... >_>. I survive the pressure with spellstones and swipes, but am generally just slightly behind on board. Fortunately he didn't have a roar in hand the 1 turn it would have represented lethal for him, and I was able to UI into both of my spreading plagues and the rest was history. By the time i reached the bottom of my deck he still had 7 cards left and his togs got waggled hard. Record: 10-1

2 or 3 games left for my free brawl, togwaggle his done me well!

After a half-dozen runs getting past 7 but petering out, I finally got a 12-2 Control Warlock run in the bank. Just had to tech in a lot of healing, and I was good. I even beat a hunter when Gul'dan was the 26th card in my deck; that felt good.

I'd craft whizbang for a tournament because idgaf about dust and it sounds fun

I'd say 75% of the games I've played this expansion so far have been Whizbang, and I've still yet to look at what's in all of the deck recipes. I feel like the fact that I'm still partially blind is the main reason I'm still playing it, and once I pretty much know what's in all of them it's not going to be fun any longer.

I just wish I didn't get that terrible Priest deck so often, the one with Test Subject that doesn't seem to run Topsy Turvy. Also, I wish my fingers were capable of typing the word turvy without it coming out as turby and having to correct it, every single time.

...tried another control warlock run, faced a newb priest with Devour Minds, Psionic Probes, Mind Controls, and complete garbage cards besides.

unfortunately it's hard for control warlock to win when your opponents plays gul'dan several more times than you do. Hooray 0-1 start.

EDIT: ...and then shudderwock.

shudderwock that draws all its combo pieces in the first 15 cards, and my demonic project whiffs.

I woke up today with a "Win 2 games with any class" quest at rank 4. 7 games later, using a combination of Zoo and Even Warlock, I am at the rank floor and still need to win 2 games.

I don't believe ironfur is in any Whizbang decks, no. But during my 0-0 game i encountered someone who was less experienced who featured a lovely array of classic cards. When he played ironfur on 3 my heart broke a little for him.

Game 12 was against Control Warlock.

I had to be careful not to tip my hand early as far as which version of druid i was running. Once i knew it was control (t2 gnomeferatu) i was acutely aware that one demonic project would be gg so i was careful to keep florist and arcane tyrant in hand to protect myself from that. Eventually i was able get off a naturalize+tog when he had 8 cards in hand to burn the ransom. He still had guldan and rin to play from hand so he tried to maje a game of it, but then i drew his godfrey and shut it down. Record: 11-1

Game 13 was against odd rogue. My first 4 cards were naturalize, nourish, nourish, togwaggle. It was a very rough start and i had to nourish for card draw rather than mana. He got off a giggling followed by a blood knight so i had to naturalize the 9/9 and give him cards. He was careful after that point not to go to wide so i only got medium value from my spreading plagues. But the armor generation fell into place and i was able to draw through my deck and set up the tog + azalina turn. His response was cute, he played the ransom followed by the legendary spell to draw all his cards before i could ransom them back. But ransom + myra's is 10 mana so that was his whole turn. Meanwhile i still had tog + azalina on board to buff with his fungalmacer + branching paths to push 16 damage and set him to 4 hp and drawing into 2 fatigue.

Record? 12-1! Wooo!

Only 250g felt cheap and i would have liked a legendary, but eh, it was my free brawl so i feel pretty good about it.

Those stats from VS. Lot of unfavorable matchups there and my 1 loss came from a 51% matchup which apparently I was more favored in than most.

I went 3-3 and faced 6 direct counters to what I was running, because Hearthstone is a piece of shit game that programmed all player skill out of relevancy.

Maybe don't play a deck with such polarizing match ups if that's how you feel about RNG.

You are empirically wrong btw. I don't make a point to tell you even time you go on one of your tirades, but just because I don't say it doesn't mean it isn't true.

...Yes, there's a certain degree of luck. If you have an 80% win rate -- which is really good -- the odds of you going 12-0 is about 7%.

But the idea that it doesn't take a lot of skill to get to an 80% win rate is laughable.

Went 9-3 in my free run of Brawliseum with Spell Hunter, which is sadly better than I've done in the actual Arena in a long time. Losses were to some sort of Tempo shaman, Zoolock with turn 2 Keleseth and better draws, and Togwaggle Druid.

I briefly hit rank 2 for the first time today running mostly Even Shaman, but got knocked back to rank 3 after a losing streak. I'm trying to push for legend this month, and for once I don't really think it's a pipe dream.

I've been slowly plugging away with my Control Warlock with no weapon in the Brawliseum. I can only do 2 games at a time because they're so draining. Currently 6-0.

My biggest scare so far has been against a Treant Druid. I was expecting regular Token Druid and then all of a sudden, here comes two 2-mana Mulchmunchers. I just had to play a Voidlord and keep hoping for nothing crazy. Sitting at 8 HP against a deck with Savage Roars is a very harrowing experience.

I haven't had a chance to play more than a couple games this month, and I'm looking for a deck to craft. I've got a good Odd Rogue that I can do a little climbing with when I get the inclination, but I want to play something new (to me). Treant Druid seems least cancerous of the Druid batch.

Anyone playing with a new deck they like?

(I've got 12k dust to work with, but I'm trying to spread that dust around with stuff that'll work in multiple decks, so maybe I'll just craft Keleseth finally :/ ).

I have literally never heard of the concept of "streamer luck" pertaining to the game of Hearthstone.

It must be so lucky to get stream sniped and queue into terrible matches.

I've been watching Reynad for the last two hours and he's had that happen to him a couple times already.

I just hit Togwaggle with Death Grip, which is essentially the only way I could have won the game with Big Spell Mage.

A clear-cut example of the famous concept of "davidponte luck". Be jealous.

Im not really enjoying anything. It seems to be a trend for me where I really dislike the game shortly after expansions hit. I guess Im just the player who prefers mid to late metas.

Sitting at 9-1 now. Lost to an egg hunter when I roped and didn't do the last 3 damage to his now-3/3 Zombeast Tundra Rhino at 23 HP, who then proceeded to drop double 5/4 Hunting Mastiff/Vicious Fledglings, which both got Windfury for exact lethal.

Im having some bad luck in brawl but Im also playing a deck Im not sure is good right now. Its 4-2 atm and both of my losses were to hunters where my draws were just awful

However I had like the greatest sequence of turns ever against an even warlock

Ive been pressuring all game but I cant seem to draw into a card that will give me lethal. At this time I have academic espionage, Leroy, Myras in hand and my last card is valeera in the deck and a spider. My board is full of spiders and an auctioneer.

My opponent plays hellfire followed by infernal. I draw and get the spider followed by valeera which I immediately play. Im currently at 10 hp

My opponent plays guldan and gets back a 2/4 taunt, and a 4/4, he trades into the 4/4. Which means I cant double Leroy

My turn I only have one play which Is to espionage into unstable and hope I get something good. One of the cards I see is lord Godfrey and I play it (all my new cards are one mana) and clear the board.

My opponent plays a 7/7 taunt, sucks face, and passes. Putting me at 4 after the fatigue damage.

I then play the following cards
Sacrificial pact, gnome (kills a Spellstone), gnome (kills lich king), duskbat (which triggers due to me taking fatigue dmg), void terror on the bat and a 1/1 it spawned, dark pact on the other bat, firefly, flame elemental. This was mainly to play around defile which he had not played yet (both hellfires were gone).

Im now at 13 hp and I know my opponent has 7 burst at most (and thats only if they run argent commander) so Im safe from dying.

The next turn my opponent does stuff snd clears s good part of my board and when he passes I Double Leroy for exact lethal.

Played three games today, all against zoo. Won all three by fatiguing the opponent. Feels good when you're at nine health on turn four or five against zoo, and a little bit later your opponent has no board, no hand and no deck and you're still sitting there at nine health.

So I got tired of running Zoo/Odd Mech Pally and made a Deathrattle Hunter. It's a pretty fun deck.

Got to 11-2 and my final boss was a Control Warlock mirror. He got Rin down on turn 6 and was able to kill it himself on Turn 7 and begin the seals on Turn 8. I tried to apply pressure, but my Turn 8/Turn 9 Voidlords were silenced (and one Sac Pact'd), and he had a perfect Godfrey set-up for Turn 10 Bloodreaver to wipe out all but three 1/1 Voidwalkers, which he then Defiled off. He played the final Seal and I went for it with the one Demonic Project I had. It hit the Skulking Geist instead, and to add insult to injury, it turned my Stonehill Defender into a Voidwalker.

I had to just start trying to eat his face and pretty much ignore the board. I played the Rin I just drew and started to eat away. I was able to Sac Pact the Azari to buy a little time, but my only minions were my Seals and I couldn't play two and eat his face at the same time, so it was very slow-going. He played a Voidlord, so minion damage was now impossible. I just kept playing one seal and eating his face. He's at 11 now and has caught on, so he also ignored my minions and just hit me, bringing me down to 14, with 4 fatigue coming next turn.

At 10, I can hellfire to clear a monster board, but that leaves me with 10 at the end of the turn and double Hellfire kills me with the fatigue, so I kill the Voidlord, Twisting Nether instead, and eat face again, bringing him to 8. He has 4 cards left in his deck. If he can't heal, doesn't have Bloodreaver, and doesn't do 2 damage to me, I still have double Hellfire for the miracle win.

He plays his second Voidlord and passes.

I finish my run 12-2. Got 505 gold and a pack!
